Reports: Rossi To Ride Tomorrow At Misano?
by dean adams
Tuesday, July 06, 2010 Reports from Europe have it that injured reigning world champion Valentino Rossi will test a Yamaha R1 at Misano tomorrow in an effort to evaluate where his level of fitness is presently. This, roughly thirty days after having his tibia and fibula broken and poking through his flesh.
If there is one tenet of Rossi-watching it's that the normal rules simply don't apply, and that he can summon from himself the ability to pass where there is no room, to win when winning seems almost impossible; abilities that at times border on the supernatural. Does this extend to dramatically shorter healing periods as well?
Only scant information on Rossi's injury and the type of repair that was performed were ever released. Reportedly, Rossi suffered a compound fracture of the tibia and a fracture of the fibula. Some reports have the broken bone protruding not just through the flesh, but into Rossi's leathers which may signify a major break. Yamaha press had it that the surgeon fixed the break with a single pin, which may infer a relativity minor break.

Hmmm... now I'm wondering if the short piece they did giving an in-depth look at the medical trailer at the start of the Catalunya program on Speed this weekend has anything to do with this? I was only half listening, I'll have to watch it again... I vaguely remember the doc saying something about "taking the casts of and re-casting the limb immediately after the race..." Anyone else catch what he said?
Nori Haga completed practice, qualifying and 2 races, 1 day after fracturing his collarbone in 3 places.
Talk about grit and determination. There's no way that was anything but miserable agony.

Looks like he was able to get his knee down with his bad leg already...

If he is thinking of racing at Sachsenring...http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2010/valentino+rossi+completes+succesful+misano+outing ... he might make it to Laguna this year.

**edit above**
Haga was on the podium the following day, after fractuing his colloarbone in 3 places at Miller.
I can't even imagine something like that would be possible.
It's good to see Vale coming back. It sounds like his shoulder is still a big problem.

You know it's just killing Rossi to watch Yor-Gay walk away with every race and then perform his "Rossi-esque" victory celebrations afterward.
He'll be back as soon as humanly possible - maybe even sooner!

They had to keep him out long enough to perpetuate the myth that he's actually human. He's not, but they have to keep everyone thinking that. Robot or Alien is as yet undetermined, but humans simply don't work that way...
