Looked like a video game. And he never even got into 6th gear. Made me sick, everything is white or grey here.

What gloves was he wearing? LOL

The Duc is just drop dead gorgeous. The R1 definitely has a pair of eyeballs for headlights.

Reminds me of some kind of star wars character. Doesn't look menacing.

The R1 has grown on me (in truth the pic above is not a very flattering angle for it). Try this:

there's no denying the Duc looks great (same for the RSV4).....

I definitely don't hate it. It just doesn't stir the soul which is typical of most Japanese bikes, IMO.

I love the look of that as well

Is that the GP version? (brembo monoblocks, front forks, and carbon discs add a cool 15K probably to the R1 cost for sure)

My 2 cents...the technology and performance is mind bending. But really what happened to the looks??? The '98 was fantastic. The '04 even better looking. I thought the '09 was ugly (sounds incredible though), the '15 is hideous...

If Ohlins did this to the '15 model, I'd buy one.

I personally find the 02-03 version to be the best looking; am not a fan of the bulky look of the 04+ model (notably the undertail exhaust)

Photos like these don't really convey the design elements and the overall proportions very well, IMO. I'm thinking that it looks pretty good. Have to wait till I see one close up and personal.
I give Yamaha credit for not doing some (mostly) weird origami design. That said it's not Italian design either.

The headlights are different.

I wonder how long it will be before the others follow suit?

Sort of like undertail exhausts.

You could do that to a VTR without too much trouble.

Couldn't be any worse than the current setup!

It's not fast enough. Needs more horsepower.

(sent from 2017 , I finally perfected my time machine)

Yeh, I wonder where it will all end.

I doubt if many of us could thrash the R1 like we can the VTR!

Maybe that is what is so good about the VTR.
