Tank Balance tube?

My Husky 610 dirtbike had a tube running from the bottom of the tank on one side over to the opposite side so you could use all the fuel in the tank. Wonder if something like that would help with our bikes? I've put a little over 3.8 gallons in twice with no problem. Seems like some report .7 to a gallon being left in the tank when they've run on out.

Our petcock is pretty much dead center on the lowest point of our tanks as opposed to the Husky's offset to one side... I doubt we'd need a tube to balance side to side, but I'm no expert authority.

Yeah that's what I don't get....the guys saying theyre out when there should be .7 or so left. If so where's the fuel sitting?

Have you links to where you picked up on these claims?

I've run my bike out of fuel before and there was zero left in the tank. Depending on how if fill it, though, sometimes I don't use up the 4.2 gallon capacity initially.

The same place i read about supposedly "horrible" fuel mileage, right here. Those posts almost convinced me not to buy a great bike with good range and excellent fuel mileage. I get at least 150 miles per tank and have gone over 180 couple times. My '99 Blackbird had excellent range but full of fuel very top heavy.

Only reference I can find is that the bike's reserve is (approx when the low fuel light comes on) 0.7 gallons - nothing about running out of gas with 0.7 gallons of fuel left unused in the tank.

That's great and not typical (as you can read for your self), and in most riding realms, 150 miles a tank is not even in the good range, never mind great.

Luckily I don't worry about it.. I only see 88 miles before my light comes on..

Oh,, and have you added a speedo healer or other adjustment device to your speedo/ODO to correct the factory inaccurate speed / mileage your getting otherwise?
