Syclone's front end swap.
I don't think I've ever posted any pictures of my bike, so here's a collection of them, as well as info about what I've swapped so far:
Installers User Name: Syclone
Model year installed on: 1998 VTR1000F
Fork legs: 9xxRR Year UNK
Lower triple clamp: 9xxRR Year UNK
Upper triple clamp: 9xxRR Year UNK
Clip on’s or bars: Swatt 3" rise 50mm clip ons
Steering stem bearings: Not yet changed, will be Allballz
Brake calipers: F4i Year UNK
Brake master cylinder: 9xxRR Year UNK
Front wheel: 9xxRR Year UNK
Front fender: 9xxRR Year UNK
Installers Narrative:
This complete front end came off a Superhawk, so the hard work was already done for me. When I got it, I compared the brakes on it with what I took off my stock setup, and I think they re-used all the brake components off the Superhawk. So, I hit eBay for some F4i calipers & M/C. These worked great until I got my Swatt Clip-ons, now the riser piece hits the integral reservoir on the M/C, so back to the 954rr M/C for now. I did temporarily have the fork tubes pulled far enough up in the triples to run the 954rr clip-ons, which worked in the fairing without interference, however ground clearance was reduced so much that I wouldn't have trusted the kickstand on a windy day. Shortening the kickstand probably would have worked out fine, but I wanted a higher ride height as I come close to dragging parts as it is. Swatt's fit without clearance issues at the highest adjustment, so I plan on sticking with them once I creatively mount my brake reservoir and figure out my sticky brake issue.
Custom "stock" pipes.
Yes, those are WIDE open.
