Sprocket change. What kind do you have?
Hry guys i am making a sprocket change on my 04. I am going to 43 in the rear. I know that are alot of may different designs and color and quality items out there when it comes to this kind of stuff. I would like to go with a gold sprocket to match the wheels, but i heard that would be expensive and i would go with the normal steel color also. Can you guys tell me what kind of sprockets some of you are running and where you got them from. thanx

AFAM sprocket, +2 in the rear, Regina EK (or was it RK?) chain.
Purchased from Terra Powersports (www.terra-powersports.com).

I see a post a guy just put up in gen discussion. He had a 15/43 and he had a 520 chain. Do i have to convert to the 520 chain if all i do is get a 43 tooth in the rear. Because i wasnt planning on getting a new chain. It only has 3500 miles on it.

No i was just showing you that certain style of sprocket. Because i know some guys on the board here have 04's also and that would be nice looking sprocket. (if you can keep it clean.) I have never heard of that sprocket. It has 3 different metals.Teeth are steel and the middle is aluminum and there is some other different metal i forget what it was. I have heard that the aluminum doesn't hold up. But i dont know it seems hard to order those sprockets, you have to email them and tell them what kind of bike then they tell you if they have it and crap like that. I may do more research on these things. To answer your question i am not trying to do a 520 and 43t with stock front sprocket and chain. I am just buying a 530 43 tooth rear.

If you want the best go with Sidewinder trimetal sprockets. They are pricey but you get what you pay for - Lifetime guarantee! I would hope so for $140.

Not the only one ever, but maybe the only one now....
I sold mine a while back. Please forgive the mixed colors. That was track plastic.

Yeah, we can ride all year 'round. Big woop. It's bad when I find myself riding like an extended swingarm, NOSed out blingbike. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! curves, need curves... Can I start a 'donate your used curves for the needy' campaign? I feel like Edward Plungerhands..."Shoot me, please..."

GOD you're so right. Everybody around here's got the fat back tire, lowered front end, extended swingarm.....I guess they figure, well there aren't any turns, so I might as well make it fast in a straight line.
Me? I'm a drag race guy....but I really like cornering too, so the bike is staying upright and tall.... I find myself taking longer routes home than I normally would, just to hit 1 or 2 sweepers that I know of.....of course they're really 80 mph turns in 40 mph zones......so I try to be careful, but god it's hard. No tight ones around here, theyre all high speed turns...
Back on topic, I went with Vortex sprockets...only because you can get a front and rear, and 520 RK xw chain for like $140 or something on ebay. The downside is, the rear is aluminum so I expect to wear it out prematurely, but I'm keeping an eye on it and keeping it greased up. When I have to change it out I might go with a less radical one so I can take some extended trips (turn 5k on the highway right now)....but god I'm gonna miss the power

Hey fellow Floridians........that's why we have race tracks!!! The Vortex won't last too long but if you get a hardened aluminum it will last much longer, vortex makes one in black. I got a Sprocket Specialist sprocket off ebay and it's fairing much better than the Vortex did.

Curves
I dont know what you guys are talking about. There is curves all over the place in florida. On every highway or interstate there are some little turns that you can get on and off the interstate with. THAT is your curves!!! It is like your own personal little track for a 100 yards. DAMN it these roads are lame down here. If you see some tard on a black hawk getting on and off the interstate thats my pathetic non good road enjoying ***.

Titusville has a full cloverleaf at US1 and FL405. Drop in and we'll wear the right sides of our tires down. Oh, and TICO airport is near that interchange and has a fairly decent loop road. Of course the police know that sportbikes like to play there...
