Race Tech Fork Rebuild

I have on order the Race Tech Gold Valve kit and 1.0 kg springs and I am 260 pounds. What else should I replace on the forks while I have it disassembled?

Also, what type and or weight of fork oil should I be considering with the new setup?

With a 1.0 spring you will either need the rebound gold valve kit or you will have to revalve the stock rebound stack.

Racetech has some great oil.
I can't remember the weight I used. I just used what the tech at recetech told me. It worked perfect.

Hawk:

I am a little confused now.

Do I need the Rebound Gold Kit instead of the Gold Valve kit? Or will I need both to properly set-up the front forks?

What does it entail to revalve the stock rebound stack?

A lot of questions.

There are two Gold Valve kits. One for compression, one for rebound. Since you'll have the fork cartridge pretty much down to parade rest anyway it takes another 10 minutes to do rebound. The rebound is the one attached to the rod. The compression is the base valve, bolted to the aluminum slug at the bottom.

If there's any chance you can cancel the Gold Valve order I can revalve your forks for you with better results than Racetech stuff. PM if interested.
