No more Fox Shox

No more Fox Shox
From Fox's web site
Go figure
Due to the rapid success of our new suspension products in several of the markets we support, FOX has decided to suspend the manufacturing and sales of our after-market line of shock absorbers for Motorcycle Road Racing applications at this time.

Re: No more Fox Shox
Yeah, I heard about this last summer. The good news is you can get them rebuilt over and over again. It's a shame as they were a nice low cost (compared to ohlins/penske) option to the factory crap.

Re: No more Fox Shox
Yes, indeed, Fox Shox are gone, but one is arguably much better-off going with a Penske 8100 (with reservoir), though they _are_ slightly more expensive than a Fox Twin-Clicker was.
SuperChicken II came equipped with a Fox Twin-Clicker (TC-1), installed by the previous owner, and Superchicken III now has a Penske 8100, set-up for a 170-180 lb. rider and fine-tuned by Donnie at Traxxion Dynamics <http:www.traxxion.com>
My view is that the difference between the two shocks is remarkable: The Penske is very noticeably a much better all-around ride, more aggressive, slightly firmer, and more confidence-inspiring. Granted, some of this extra magic comes from the fine-tuning that Donnie performed; nonetheless, now that I know the difference, I would never go back to a Fox shock.
