I like that wheel Alan, be good if you could get a matching front. When my bank balance allows it, I am going to get some aftermarket rims I think. Some nice forged alloys will look good, and help handling as well.

Thanks Shayne yeah theres some cool after market wheels out but i will be limited on the rear to just the 8 spoke or the vfr 5 spoke unless i modify my hub with a Ducati hub so i can mount Marchesinis like Daz Sear has done.

Did you have to modify the shock link, like so many others doing the VFR swingarm swap?
And, how much mod did the welder have to do with the exhaust piping?
I'm getting ready to do this (acquiring parts now), but my machinist needs some specifics.
Any possibility you'd sell the VFR 5-spoker? I like it better than the 8-spoker...and I think it's lighter.

Hi Andy
yeah you need a new shock linkage making i have the drawing,also some spacers for when you tie it to the engine with the vfr tie rod, i could measure mine also have pics of the build through different stages.Also you need to make some sort of spacer at the front sprocket to line chain up, i used another front sprocket machined down to about 5mm have pics.The biggest part is the exhaust mod which you need a new rear cylinder pipe making and the s bend needs modifying to take the pipe.
Sorry but i sold the 5 spoke to someone in Denmark 135 UK pounds including shipping,you dont want the 5 anyway it looks naff imo.If you want pics pm me your email addy and i'll send em
ps with regard to the wheelbase its about 50mm longer i dont feel any issue's with handling infact since my front end conversion and swingarm + ohlins shock the vtr is transformed,its a whole different bike ride it harder,faster than i ever could in standard trim it eats Ducatis for breakfast lol

that is a sweet ride, people are going to hate me for asking this, but where did you get the grab rail. I have the same issue, my wife loves to ride, but the SH wasnt exactly made for passengers and anytime I brake or shift she loses head control and smacks me in the back of my helmet. It def doesnt affect the rad look of yours.

Hi yes i built it myself the only thing i didnt do was the exhaust fab work but my idea to run the pipework how it looks.My welder had a bitch of a job with the rear cylinder as theres not much room for the pipe to drop through the swingarm especially using an ohlins shock they are slighter bulkier than standard shock.Welder only charged me 170 GBP what a star!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

That is one mean looking VTR!! In my opinion, the 5 spokes look better/cleaner than the 8 spokes. Then again you gain a half an inch of wheel width with the VFR750 wheels. Tough toss up but I'd have to stick with the 5 spokers if it were mine.
Either way that is an exceptionally well dne VTR. All I'm all over minus the LEDs mounted the way they are to the rear brake.
