Most slip ons won't require it, unless you've done something else like a high flow air filter. IMHO these bikes are a tad rich from the factory so you should be alright.

I did the slip-ons, high flow intake, and re-jet. W/ much satisfaction...

Jardine High Mounts Here too

Factory Pro Rejet (48 Pilots)
4 degree ignition advance
Pair removed
K&N Filter

If you don't rejet, why waste the money on a set of slip-ons.

There is always negative comments about rejetting. Its not like a FI bike it takes time patience to fine tune it in.

You may have to pull the tank and carbd 2 to 4 times.

Sure it will run without rejetting, but it will run much better if rejetted correctly. The dyno will tell the truth.

Same here:
Jardines RT-1
K&N
Dynojet Stage 1

The best dyno run at ~92F and sea level (running almost rich) showed 100.4 hp and 69.4 ft.lbs. I was impressed with the torque curve, the power curve was alright. I'm happy anyway.

Thumbs up

I've got RT ones, and KN filter plus Dyno jet kit. I followed the jet kit advice and ended up with 185 front and 190 rear on the mains, with needle clips on 2nd from the bottom, as per the kit advice. I also have a Flow Commander unit fitted which allows me to ajust the air flow through the main air jets. (This has the same effect as changing the needle position, or the main jet to some extent) The bike dynoed at 105.3hp first run but was way over fueling on the main jet circuit (air/fuel ratio shot to hell). With adjustment of the Flow Commander got a better a/f ratio and 108.9hp but still way to rich. The dyno dude suggested dropping a couple sizes in mains, even back to stock at #175. So I went back to 175 front & rear. Bike runs smoother, pulls hard and has impressive top end. Not dynoed yet but seat of the pants says I hav'nt lost any hp or mid range grunt. More fuel does not always mean more power.

Cheers
Reb

Hey AMF Racing
What size jets and needle position are you using?

I have staintunes on mine with the factory carb kit & it got a lot more power to the top end & mid range but lost out in the low reve range I went through the pilot jet size from 50s to 48s but the std pilot jets seem to be the best in oz needle clips on the 4th ring & std main jet size seemed to pull the best at top reve on & off throttle but you have to play around your self to fine tune
