IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just came back from the first ride after all the work we just did on my bike and WOW! way WAY more power. Power wheelies in first are easy as pie whereas before I'd have to really pop it. Mega torque in the low to mid-range and she absolutely screams in the top! Awesome throttle response. NO holes anywhere, no popping, backfireing I could not be happier

Anyone considering the mod I just did should do it.

K&N air filter, Dynojet stage 1( 185/190 and 5th clip, slides drilled). The whole thing went smooth as silk. Due to the top knotch quality mechanical ability of my buddy TOM.

Re: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I am happy to see it all worked out for you. I seem to recall you were doing a few other things along with the K&N and jetting. Care to share those too.

Enjoy your new-found power

Re: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went on a major long twisty fast ride yesterday with 111 other riders from Nanaimo to Tofino on Vancouver Island - one of the famous/notorious roads around BC.

What I do notice is that the power curve isn't quite as linear as before, at least thats what my *** tells me and I do still get the odd pop on decel. In any event its a different bike there's no doubt about it.

I put '93 VFR 750 clip-ons - imo the 2nd best mod after a better windshield. Goodridge SS front lines, APE manual cam chain tensioners, K & N, plugs, fluids etc.

I'm also glad to know that you are enjoying more your Storm!
Take care of the cops when you are on 1 wheel

How many inches and/or mm are raising the VFR clip-ons compare to the stock VTR ones?

Don't forget: Keep rubber side down

Re: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I had the ***** and the bucks to learn to do long wheelies. Adding the VFR bars, along with the Puig windscreen and Sargent seat is just huge. I get barely any wind blast, my *** is still comfy past 1hr riding and the bars are best of all. They gotta be at least 2" higher and they have less downward angle and you can fart around with their position by spinning them a bit on the shock.

I'm 5'9" and rode from 9:30am to 8pm (with breaks of course) and my hands and wrists were NEVER sore. When you compare them to Helibars they appear to be far stronger, even more ergonomically friendly and FAR cheaper.

I should post this mod with pics in the knowledge section.

Re: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DId you use the stock brake/clutch lines with the VFR bars?
In other words is it a simple change out with no modifications?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Details are in the knowledge base. There are some very minor mods other than you need new stainless steel braided lines which you should have regardless.
