I'm a victim of you know ...

Ya ..
I'm not going into detail , lets just say procrastination plays a big part in this .. Thankfully , with my line of work I know some people that do "Heads" , I lucked out my valves were not bent and he did a little porting & polishing (see shiny intake) new seals and cleaned it all up for $250 Bux .. dam good deal !!
I've ordered CCT's from Superduty , once they arrive I will slap it all back together with a little help , Camshafts/Timing kinda intimidates me a bit ..

Question : I've seen some mixed reviews regarding Air-Filters , OEM or upgrade to K&N ?? just curious with my motor being done will it require "better" air flow . yes I'm jetting carbs , I have slip ons to . Sorry .. to bring this up
Love this site , you guys know your $hit !! very helpful !
Thanks !

lol

Nice and clean! You're lucky you save the heads!

Unless you're running it at 10k rpm the whole time, the OEM is likely better. I say likely b/c some on here swear they get it to work just fine, but I've not seen this to be the case. People are running much more upgraded motors on here with OEM or BMC street filter...

Port and polish and slipons are not really that drastic of mods, especially on this motor. High compression pistons, lighter valves, different cams, full exhaust etc... then you're looking at air filter changes!

Lucky bugger! as for K&N that can work, with dynojets and dyno time to set it all up. Don't expect massive gains just a tidying up and a modicum improvement.

I have done all that, and a bit more (I have yet to overbore the engine, apart from that I can't really think of anything I have missed)... And mine still runs better with the OEM filter than the K&N... Yeah, I can also get the K&N to "work"... But that means compromising on stuff I don't want to...

I see your PAIR system is in that pic. Perfect time to get rid of it i'd say.

You're not too far from me.
