High altitude fueling concerns.

Im going to be doing a rally in a few months, and the route will take us to elevations of 9k ft. I understand the bike will run rich. Any advice before I make the trip?

thnx in adv.

Install a K&N filter 1/2 way up, or buy a fuel injected bike.

Seriously, there's not much you can do with a carbureted machine. It's going to run rich at altitude, but rejetting for the trip would be ridiculous. I've ridden mine at just over 6,000 feet, and it runs just fine. Especially since the stock jetting is somewhat lean anyway, and mine has a .020" needle shim. At 9,000 you may loose some power and have idling problems. But who wants to idle when they're riding twisties in the mountains?

Sounds like fun.

I regularly ride up around 7000ft on mine with no issues, however I am a bit lean in Phoenix..

Flo-Commander.
I don't have mine yet, but this device will allow you to manually adjust your "jetting". A number of members here have them with all good reports that I've seen so far
