Re: Fuel Tank Upgrade Option

1175$ USD! + the exchange rate + the shipping + the customs fees = final price 7999$ CDN ( and I exaggerate only a bit!! )

On the other hand, I'm happy that make me think that my "tinny" 16 liters tank is not so bad finally!!

I think I'd need to see one on the bike before I'd consider dropping $1200 on it

Didn't CarboChicken have one on his silver SHawk that he was trying to sell? That alone made the bike tempting to purchase...

Carbon Tank info

I live a couple of mile down the road from this place.... I plan on getting one in a few months after I get my engine done over by Moriwaki... I will try to get a brochure or pics to post up...

FWIW I've had an Erospace tank for about four years. I was interested in the CF/Kevlar construction, and overall, a really solid piece of kit (I was knocked over by a cage turning left in a lane outside of me - $3500 damage, but the tank came through with no cracks or leaks whatsoever). The only issue I've encountered is that the locking fuel cap I sprung for has become a bit balky to remove and reinsert. Just a bit wider (perhaps 1-1.5") than the stock tank at the knees. My Erospace tank actually holds 5.7 gallons (yes, you can still run the thirsty SH dry) but the extra range and weight loss are really welcome. I'll take a stab at posting some pics sometime.

I will be selling my modified 5.3 gallon VFR tank for a hell of a lot less than these options. Has a new PPG gloss black with multi coats of clear professionally applied.

Bling all that work man! It's bringing a tear to my eyes and I didn't even do any of the work. I hope this is a really nice house you're going after.:-D

Anyone know if Honda takes well to group buys? It would be fun to get a couple hand-fulls of folks to tell Honda we want the big tank. I'm happy with my ~40mpg, but I'd still like to see over 150mi on a tank fill-up.

I've got the carbochicken now and it's a carbon tank, but I think it's closer to 5.8 gal. The tank in the OP looks like it might be better constructed (see the thread I started about a leak under my tank...).
