first post need a little help

First off hello to everybody,I just purchased a mildly damaged 2003 sh.I have been pouring over info on this site and saw where someone said that vfr750 fork tubes were a direct replacement. My tubes are slightly bent, one has a small crease.I am looking for the cheap route to get riding.I found some 97 vfr tubes cheap. Will they fit? Thanks Dennis

Greetings - IIRC Certain model VFR owners swap in VTR Firestorm 41mm forks because the mod offers them extra adjustability. Just be sure to check the donor VFR forks are from the right model and be aware that you'll lose preload and rebound damping settings.

Might be better getting from ebay VTR secondhand forks or from someone here swapping their front end out.

thanks, I wasnt sure if I could only swap out the tubes only and retain all adjustments. I did find dims @ a fork tube supplier and sh tubes are 633mm long and vfr tubes are 628mm. So you think that you cant swap tubes and keep the internals and lowers? I found a pair of tubes for 65 thought it might work.thank you

The VFR750 fork tube part number doesn't match the VTR1000F part number. Wicky's suggestion is less likely to lead to unhappiness.

I bought a set of Modded Superhawk forks from a member here and never used them. Eventually sold them back to another member that was going to install them on a 97VFR track bike. I think the size is the same and the calipers will all line up. Tansplanting the guts from one tube to the other prob crosses the line. They're both 41mm's if I remember but the sims prob stop there.

Two questions, What is your location, and would you be interested in a set of 2005 front forks?

I am doing a 900RR fork and 600 brake swap right now. Let me know if you need parts and I can hook you up with stock front brake MC, lines, calipers, forks, and triples. Let me know

I have a stock set taking up space in my garage. If the deal with chaos falls through, PM me and we can work out a deal.
