I put it in today and the fan kicks on at 183 exactly on mine anyway. Havent rode it yet. Just started it to see what temp it would come on at.

 

Wow! That's really early. Stock is around 215 - 218. Did you lower it on purpose?

 

Yea I put in the lower temp switch. Seems to me like a cooler motor produces more pulling power.

 

Makes sense I guess. Unless I'm in traffic it never really gets much above 190 anyway, even when the outside temp is at 100.

 

Mine got around 197 when I took my trip to east Tx. and stayed there for a good while. I thought that was a little strange that it would stay in the high 190's while going down the frwy. at 75mph for a long distance and it wasnt that hot that day.

 

My bike does the same thing. I can be cruising fast early in the morning and it'll still run 180-190ish. I would think a switch kicking your fan at 183 would run the fan too much. I think anything over 200 the fan needs to be running. Your fan will kick off and on while your on the highway, then it's not doing any good. Where did you get the lower temp switch?

They are doing a lot of road construction in the Dallas area so there is a lot of stop and go traffic and slow riding.
