Very cool. That's why Yamaha uses a variable length stack... and Honda used a double runner (2 different lengths that was controlled with a butterfly) intake on the LS motors.

TO ALL.....

I've sent out about 25 sets of stacks. If for some reason you ordered, and haven't received them in a reasonable amount of time, please contact me. Since I had orders on my website, and paypal... I just want to make sure I didn't miss anyone.

Once again, I have caught up with the orders, and there are 2 sets in stock.

To the other 7~10 people who were on the list, but haven't ordered yet... don't worry. I understand money is tight, and the economy is down. The stacks will be a regular part for A&L MotorSports, and I will try to keep a few in stock.

NOW... if there is still interest, I'm going to start working on the braces again. I will dig up the old thread, and bring it up to the top.

Also... I don't know if there would be any interst... but I'm going to try to get my hands on a bike, and make up levers for it. (look on CycleControls web site) If there is interest here... I can do a group buy for about $160 to $170 depending on how many people would want them. (and possible rearset adjusters, also can be seen on cyclecontrol)

Thanks guys.

Looks like the old thread was deleted, because I can't find it.

I'll start a new one.

For me:

1. Velocity Stacks
2. Rearsets
3. My levers are mixed, 1 Suzuki and 1 Superhawk

If you ask Tweety nicely, I recall him saying that he may still have the rough drawings from the rearset adapter that he machined. You will definitely need a bike to see how to setup to make rearset adapters for our bikes.

Actually, yeah... I'd say once the stack and brace is taken care of, go for rearset adapters...

Finding levers are easy and I believe you will have a hard time competing on price with the chinese crap (Altough your stuff will be superior, price is still a factor that gets compared)

But rearsets are ridiculously expensive for the hawk, and I'll gladly provide what info I have for the adapter... I made mine so that I could attach an adjustable rearset for the CBR 1000RR, just to simplify things with my limited toolset...

But with a CNC machine like your's it's a lot simpler to make the adapter with a bunch of holes and then stick a stock rearset for whatever CBR model of your choice on the mount plates... Then you can move it around... I'd recommend CBR 929/954 since they have the footcontrols mounted to the bolt that holds the peg, that simplifies things...

Thanks tweety. If you have a drawing already... I could knock a prototype out quick. Please email the info to me at tony@a-lmotorsports.com . If you have a model, that would be great, but all I need is the basic measurements, and I will tweak them into the style I make now.

The reaset adjusters I make now are sold under the CycleControl label.

They can be seen here:

http://www.cyclecontrol.com/index.php?page=products/rsa

And... I already make levers. I believe the brake on a Superhawk is either an SV, or a Buell. (same thing, just a different pivot location) And, since my levers are modular... All that I would need to do is make a clutch base. They can be seen here:

http://www.cyclecontrol.com/index.ph...roducts/levers

But, you guys are right... I can't compete with the Import levers, but I would give you guys a "Group Buy" price.

No real drawing... But a few measurements that you could make into one... I have no clue where they ended up though... I'll go looking, give me a few days... A rearset adjuster won't work, the rearset is bolted to the swingarm bolt... You need the adapter to bolt to the bike and provide the bolt pattern for either an aftermarket rearset or OEM from another bike... The VTR piece is in one solid piece and hence completely useless...

From my research the best two candidates for using an OEM rearset is GSXR 600-750-1000 from a bunch of years, or CBR 929/954... All of which have the levers bolted to the peg...

The other option is making an adapter with the same two bolt holes as the OEM for a bike and then let the end user buy a cheap adjustable rearset...

Well... On levers... Since I'm running a Honda VTR 1000F clutch lever and a CBR 1000RR brake lever, none of which is in your list... So I'm out unless you can make an odd combination for me...

My dilema for levers as well, stock VTR100F clutch and Suzuki GSX-R600 brake.

I'll worry about getting funds for the V-stacks before I worry about the others. The rearset adapter definitely has my interest, as I'm not happy with the stock setup.

Hey guys in Canada....

Has anyone in Canada gotten their velocity stacks? I've had 2 members contact me, and say they didn't get them yet. It seems like the only place that is having problems.

PM me if you are in Canada, and HAVE gotten them.

Thanks

Hey Doc,

I was one of those that PM'd you. I wasn't in any real hurry (pays to be patient when dealing with Canada Customs) but just thought you should be aware that they hadn't shown up yet. I walked into the house minutes later and there they were. My Son had probably signed for them at the same time I was typing the PM. They look UBER cool AND...get this: no GST, no brokerage charge, no extra nothing. Wow, nice!

Only problem is...they look so pretty I don't think I'll be able to install them where they can't be seen. I'll probably need at least one more set so I can keep this one in it's original shrink wrap package to maintain it's collectable status.

Best Regards
-Darc

Thanks for letting me know.

HEY GUYS

If you have not received your stacks... please PM me. I want to make sure I did not miss any of the orders.

There were so many orders at one time... and coming in from 2 different systems (paypal, and my website) I just want to make sure everyone stays happy with me. I'm just a small one man shop, and I do miss things once in a while.

Thanks for understanding.

Dr. Honda,
Your velocity stacks arrived today. It was like Christmas when I got home. My wife signed for them when the Canada Post guy came today. I have work to do this weekend but I think my plans may have changed.
I was not as fortunate as Sleeper. I was hit with duty and/or a brokerage fee of $29.12 CDN. I guess it's not so bad provided that part of it goes to support our much admired health care system.

I think what you've done with getting us some custom velocity stacks is absolutely brilliant. I've had several different bikes and have poked around an equal amount of forums and every one could use someone like you to make small custom parts. I see a big market for you if you could design a piece and make it when an order comes in. I know the guys over at TLZone and TLPlanet went crazy for those clear windowed clutch covers, and come to think of it that would be really cool to see on a VTR. The guys over at SVRider would gobble up velocity stacks. The list just goes on and on and on. It's mind boggling what you could do with an online storefront and a CNC machine.... $$$

By the way, I'll be ordering a set sometime soon..

Damn.. just realized you sell Vapor mounts for a DRZ. The pos speedo on mine died, and I'll be needing one of those mounts for a new Vapor.

By the way, what would it cost or take to make a longer velocity stack for the VTR? I'm just curious and I don't know the CNC programming process. Is it a manner of punching in some numbers??

Hi,

Yup... I made up a vapor mount for my own bike... and guys wanted them... so I added them to my store.

A longer stack could be made... but if you are only looking for one set... it would get expensive. ($400 or $500) The reason for that is I would have to make the CAD modle... then make the CNC program to cut it. (so a few hours on the computer) Then, I will probably scrap one or two fine tuning the program before getting a good set made. Also... the deeper a hole, the larger the boring bar needs to be. So... if I cant get a good finish with the one I'm using for the stacks now... I would have to buy a new one, and that cost would have to be added to the price of the first part.

Also... there is no proof that it will do anything for you. The stack I make now is someone else's design, that has been proven to work. The original manufacture stopped making it, so I picked up the ball. (so to speak)

I'm all about short runs... but a single part is expensive.

Got the DR. Honda prescription/and wanting MORE...

Got the prescription to the Ole' Girl breathing HEAVIER, and the BMC airfilter to get the air to the engine. And the full exhaust to get rid of the waste.
Yet my question to the "ELDERS of KNOWLEDGE"- While putting the air box top back over the filter element and positioning the snorkle back into the frame of the bike.. The question snuck into my brain- ELDERS do you believe the snorkle causes any restrictions to the air that could be gotten into the airbox..
I do realize the being that the bike is completely stock (engine components/ or internally) This is just a waste of the brain power question.

Many before you have tried and failed to remove the top and snorkel, but stay tuned cuz it's my turn to try it now. It may turn out to be a wild goose chase, but my stg1 motor could use the less restricted air so I gotta try it!

Hi Guys,

OK... here's a deal for someone.

I have a set of "Blem" velocity stacks. The blem is that the aluminum was cut slightly crooked, so when the lathe faced off the stock (for a clean surface) there were still some saw marks in the finished part. I'm sure these could be sanded smooth, and I would be willing to guaranty that they will still flow much better than the stock plastic stacks. As you can see in the picture... the top lip is not perfect, so I can't sell these as good stacks, but since the blem is not inside of the part, where the air is forced to flow straight, and accelerates... I would hate to throw these in the scrap bucket.

So... if someone would like them for $45 +ship... shoot me a PM.

Sorry for the phone pic. I left my good camera at home.

i am holding off on re-jetting until i make all modification that will benefit from being re-jetted.

do you recommend the flow commander?
should it be installed before or after jetting?

Hi guys,

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was running a batch of stacks, and I have some more blems. These ones actually look good, and only have a small lip on the top. (they are better than the one in the picture above)

If anyone wants them... they are $45 + shipping. (PM me)

Thanks

Tony
