2007 GSXR 600 fork swap

picked up a set of GSXR forks for $105 after shipping. couldnt pass it up. forks are straight and seals are good. upper triple clamp wasted but not a big deal just got to pick up a new one. going with a set of risers and dirt bike handle bars instead of clipons. have a stock gsxr steering damper and front calipers in the mail. i had to grind the inter lip of the top vtr bearing to fit over the new thicker gsxr steering stem.for the lower bearing used the stock gsxr seemed to fit perfect. before i completely bolt it all together i still need to grease the bearings and get steering stops welded on the lower triple to hit the stock vtrs. 2007 GSXR 600 fork swap-014.jpg

Modding the bearing is a novel approach. Till now everyone has gone with the 929/954 triple for GSXR forks, but as I discovered it has a different width than most GSXRs so rather than mess with custom spacers I went to a complete 954 setup I got for cheap.

I will eventually do this mod. Have access to the pieces. Through All ***** Racing, they have a customer who buys new bearings and bores them out, just like your explaining.

Keep posting pics. Let me know how the fairing works. I'll be following with HUGE interest.

Ahh, then that will be the difference, I want the fairings on. Still, keep us posted on the swap. Luckily for me, the guy I'm getting the forks from has the forks, rotors, calipers and wheel. Another guy has the upper and lower triples.

I use http://www.esnipe.com/ It will bid for you last min so as to not drive up the price prematurely. Not a guarantee but it has worked well for me a few times.
