stainless steel fender eliminator kit
I just purchased a stainless steel fender eliminator kit off ebay. There is no instructions. I was wonderig if anyone has installed one of these. I know you have to cut off some of the original plastic. Mine was already taken off quite a bit. I know the key lock for the seat has to be taken out of the plastic and put through the stainless part also, but does that part of the plastic stay. Any help you guys can give would be appreciated.

I am assuming you have bought a Competition Works (or werks) eliminator may be??
I put one of those on my previous F4i, so that is where my experience is coming from.
they used to have a link to instructions that some F4i owner had posted on their website (check http://www.competitionwerkes.com/fe_honda.html), or you should be able to contact them and ask them to send you instructions on VTR.
As far as cutting goes, yes, if that is the one you have bought, the whole black side on the back will be cut off from somewhere under the seat all the way to the back, and replaced with the metal piece. Don't cut more than necessary, as it will leave a hole (you can always buy a piece of metal from local harware store and cover it, but it will defeat the purpose which is good looks and finish.)
also, all the sides/etc. are pretty sharp. I filed everything to a smooth finish before working on it, to avoid cuts during install and later when washing the bike.
hope this helps,
good luck.
