opinions are like ********, thankfully everyone has one, but some of them stink worse than others. And this reminds me of Bobby Richardson, a fellow boyscout who told us about his physical examination experience. We were 12yrs old, camping in small cabins at spruce creek, trying to go to sleep and this crazy bastard won't stop talking. So he's talkin about this doctor grabbin his ***** and then checkin his *******. The Dr. said something like "looks pretty dirty back here". Bobby defiantly replies, "yeah, it's supposed to, that's where the **** comes out".
Anyway, opinions. honesty can be brutal, esp when it's unfettered.
your bike reminds me of a cross between the rat bikes of a San Francisco gang I saw a couple years ago on Superbikes and streetfighters. Interesting and makes a strong statement and it's nice to see the minimalist look. It's not pretty, but then it's not supposed to.
The main thing is that you like it and that it works and that's what I do. While it may be interesting to hear what others think, unless it causes you to re-think your own position, it is inconsequential in terms of how it affects your feelings/beliefs/actions. Speaking of which, how does the hawk work in this minimalist condition and do you have any obsevations and recommendations based on you experiences. When mine goes down again, and considering I'm able to rebuild it, I will head in your direction.

well I would say that my bike is probably a lot more comfortable than a stock bike. the dirty bars put you much more upright and make long trips much more bearable. Also, my seat, being custom suited for my ***, is pretty comfy. I lost a lot of weight as you can imagine so it's much easier to flick around. The single radiator cools just fine without all that damn plastic in the way. I do wish I had better guages, but thats probably my only gripe, and that's easily fixed. So it's quicker, lighter, more comfortable, and suited to my tastes. I would modify a brand new bike if someone gave it to me today.
oh and I suppose i lost some top speed with no fairing but thats not a big deal.

If you get by a moving or other company with scales, it would be interesting to see the weight since you put it on a diet. If it's more flickable now, I can't imagine the diff with lighter unsprung spinning weight.

True Mad Max Styling, even the photo date matches the look. You need to ride that thing all dressed in black leather, with a mohawk, and a cross bow strapped to your forearm.
I like it BTW, it pisses people off, it's loud, its fast.. It is a lot better than all the 80's bike bobber look wannabe crap around here that passes as custom.
Plus it corners.

Of course, all of us would like to own a museum grade Superhawk. Not all bikes came to us with such lofty goals or history.
This is a strong platform that has been developed for drag, trikes, superbike racing, motard - I'm sure I miss a few.
The fact that a Superhawk shows up like this is only a testament to the basic strength of the machine. We should all celebrate it. I do.

What would really top it off is if you cut up a street sign to replace the reflective stuff on the back. Cut up a squiggly "curves ahead" sign, or the one with the car with the squiggly burnout marks behind it, or a stop sign. That'd be sick..
