Slider Question

Has anyone ever used sliders from this manufacturer? If so do the really require no cutting.

Yes, I have them. The mounting plate is off set so that they clear the fairing.

I got em last month, and the ones they sent me look even better than the ones shown in the picture ( they have a billet spacer instead of just being flat on the bottom) They came super quick too ! maybe 3 days ... Dont know how they perform in a crash though , and hope I dont find out!

I had one set before and didnot like them on my S- Hawk. It doesn't look right but good protection w/aftermarket rearset.

Oh they are. I got a set and put them on this past weekend. I thought they were for the wrong bike at first because they look different from the ones in the picture but they bolted right up. I like the way they look but I hope I never test them.

I just crashed them at the track last weekend they held up great, I was going about 140 and theey saved the bike from any extensive damage. dinged up the plastics a littel but for as fast as I went down the fact that it didn't crack the engine case is great to me. I'm going to order anbother set and sent the company a testamonail. a++++++++

I just posted this in a different thread, but here seems more appropriate.. how difficult are they to install? Do I need to remove my lowers?

You dont have to remove the lowers , Just remove the 2 allen bolts on each side and GENTLY flex the fairing outward to access the mount bolts ... Took me about 20 minutes & 5 of that was looking for tools

Took about 15 minutes. I had to take one of the fairing mount bolts out on each side to flex out the fairing.

I'd link the pictures in here, but they're large. If you're interested, you can click here.

Ebay. Search for T-Rex Frame Sliders.

I've tried... it seems that the guy ran out of sliders that fit the vtr1000.

I also tried finding s&w frame sliders but the swsliders.com website doesn't work anymore.

I'm gonna answer my own question here. There's not any auctions for the sliders, but if you send the guy a message, they're available for 70 shipped. I forget his SN, something like "t-rex racing" but I just ordered some.

I crash tested a set in Jan., and you can read what I said about them here:

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ead.php?t=4516

My friend actually caught the crash on video and you can find a youtube link there as well.

Last week I finally had a chance to take the bike over to a frame specialist and got very good news. Everything looks good and straight, he only had to reweld the fairing stay mounting tab on the front of the frame! The guy only charged me $120! I highly recommend these sliders.
