Remove stock guages, Veypor guage install
I installed my Veypor gauge on a RAM mount, I left the stock gauges connected, just to make sure that the Veypor was on par with the stock ones and they are. The time has come to remove the stock gauges. After some searching on the site here, I only found one guy that might have been running with the stock gauges disconnected.
The Veypor uses a magnet and sensor for wheel speed and a lead going to one of the bikes coils for RPM's. Besides the idiot lights, I don't need the stock gauges.
After looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like disconnecting the stock gauges shouldn't have any effect on the bike running. Is this true?
I want to put a metal panel (carbon fiber in the future) where the stock gauges are. In that panel, I will attach the Veypor gauge, a water temperature gauge and 5 bright LED's for the idiot lights.

I have a thread on here about guage swaping. I did the cbr600rr dash. On it I mention where to get the exact plug honda uses on the vtr. You probly wanna plug into that so you can plug the stockers back in whenever you want.
The veypor has no temp guage? To watch temp temporarily (ptp), I just installed the sensor of a waterproof themometer in the top coolant line. Its actually still in there and is always within a degree of the cbr number.
The connectors are either corsa Corsa Technic Motorsport, Motorcycle Connectors 9-pin
This thermometer has been working perfectly for over a year if you want temp temp. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Ther...#ht_3186wt_973
