But it should be noted that the dimensions are not going to work very well with a stock VTR shock or an aftermarked shock with stock length... For one, the rear will point very high in the sky... And two, the linkage needs a slightly softer shock setting than stock to work optimally...

You need either an aftermarket shock with adjustable length or like me a rebuilt F4i shock with an adjustable clevis mount... I'll gladly provide all basic information needed to build that...

But like the information I gave Gaggenau, I give the basic measurements and an idea... The final shape and form is up to you to figure out... If you have the know-how it's "easy"... If you haven't got a clue, well... Then you are likely to hurt yourself if you get to much help building it... That's how I look at things...

Update, took delivery of the 2 into 1 exhaust system yesterday, fitted it, sounds absolutly mental Gona have to get the jetting set up as no doubt it will run like an absolute pig.

And the CBR900 6 spoke wheel well chuffed i found this, firestorm discs and spacers all fit to make this a direct bolt in, and its 17" which is mega rare, plenty of 16" kicking about.

I wish you smart people would have a cad drawing for the stock shock setup as i can find someone to run the cad with a working drawing.

Thanks

If what you are reffering to is changing the link Gaggenau/I have made and using it with the stock length shock, then it's not going to happen, since the problem would then be that the link would be impossible to manufacture, and the geometry wouldn't work... This is because the stock shocks is to long, the bottom end needs to sit lower than the current to fit, ie you can either move the mount down with the longer shock, and get a high rear and need a much softer spring than stock to make that new geometry work... Or you can use the geometry that works with a shorter shock...

If you read on previous posts, I havent put any miles on the bike yet, when I have and it is still safe then ill put the information out, I just dont want anyone to get hurt because of somthing that I have designed and havent tested. I am not holding on to the drawings to make money out of it.

The hole dimmestions have been freely posted by Tweety on the forum, I think that are in this thread, designing ur own isnt that hard, I have put some dimms for spacings for the engine tie bar and shock.

On another note, today I had been looking thorugh my local Honda dealers website that list bike parts for bikes, I could not find a CBR900/929/954 that has a 6 spoke 17" front wheel, only 16", so I think that the wheel is an SP1 front wheel, as they had 6 spoke 17" front wheels.

Well i have finished it ...well for now!

Just got to get the suspension sorted as the rear is rock hard, but from the little ride i had today, its running ok, no immediate signes of reduced power due to the 2 into 1 exhaust, roll on the summer

Could I ask a question here?? Apart form aesthetics, what advantage do you have fitting this swing arm as opposed to buying a Ohlins shock for the standard set up and tuning the suspension??

Well, since I was the one doing it initially I'll but in... I personally wanted a tad longer swingarm and higher rear, which this easily produces... It moves the weight forward, less wheelie prone bike, more stable through corners... Combined with a sorted fork, the much stiffer rear, and altered geometry makes the bike corner like it's on rails...

You can get similar results from a braced stock swingarm and sorted damper... But that's about the same amount of work, all parts of it together...

Just got to get a speocket carrier and spacer, and bearings for the new linkage, will be using stock honda ones from the SP linkage
Looks amazing.
How did the road testing go?
Any chance of PMing me the CAD file?
Thankyou.

shock overall length, the magic number from when firestorms were raced is 2mm over stock length, any more they get twitchy, any less they steer like a oil tanker.
