Puig racescreen
Puig racescreen
I went to Cycle Gear to buy a speedscreen double bubble and they talked me into the Puig racescreen. They said it was not as flimsy and prone to cracking and the fit is excellent and they had never heard any complaints about the way the Puig works. So I ordered the light smoke racescreen which is the double bubble design like the speedscreen.
After having it on my bike for a couple of weeks now I have to agree. The install was easy as the fit was excellent. It is usually windy here and on really windy days the wind blows about 25-35 mph. This shield flat works in the wind. The wind catches the top of my shoulders and my helmet where before with the stock screen my upper torso would act as a sail with the wind trying to move me around on the bike making it hard to keep a steady line in the lane going into the wind.
The only downside is you will have slightly more weight on your wrists as the wind doesn't hold you up as much as it did before but that is a good trade off to keep the wind from moving you around on the bike. I'm 5'11" and recommend the Puig.
I can't say anything bad about the Lockhart Phillips double bubble as I have never tried one but I can say that the Puig works.
