Poor-man's fender eliminator

Has anyone attempted to cut the fender down using a dremel tool? Pics? Previous ones don't show up.

Re: Poor-man's fender eliminator

I almost ruined mine with a dremel tool - it caught and tore off in the wrong direction.
The best way I've found is to heat it up with a hair dryer and then cut with a utility knife.

I did mine with an air cutoff wheel (imagine a dremel on steriods). I taped off where I wanted to cut, and followed the tape. A little cleanup work with a file and a sharp knife and good to go. Just takes a steady hand is all.

air powered body saw works wonders on bike fenders.

Re: Poor-man's fender eliminator

Put in the two screws, (i bought a license plate kit from walmart) then put the plate on and bend it slightly, as far as the cutting.

1. dont kill yourself
2. saw off the most you can, i used a mini hack saw handheld
3. use a dremel on the rest and go as slow as you can

OK it wont let me do photos right now, oh well. Look in the other post about plates right below this one for a photo.
