I picked up a set of GSXR brake calipers. They are in need of some cosmetic help. They are in good condition, but they don't look as good as my bike. They have a few scratches and signs of use.

Can calipers be painted or coated? I welcome anyones advice on this subject. I want to put the brakes on, but I don't want them to degrade the bike's appearance.

 

I would use an aluminized silver or gold paint. Keep the layers light and few. Paint will add insulation.. and keeping heat in the caliper is not something you want to do. Whole hog.. Have um stripped and anodized. other then that, strip um and a light coating of paint.

VHT makes a caliper paint that seems to work well.

What ever paint you use,,just remember, it has to a high temp type.

 

If you don't care sbout cost you could have them anodized, that would look shweeet.:-D

 

Wal-Mart sells caliper paint, albeit funky colors.
