Naked SHawk, rev3...

Hello again, maybe some of you have been following my posts on the naked build. Anyway, finally got it how I wanted her to look. Carbon Fiber front fender, made some carbon fiber radiator guards. Used the old fender for a windscreen, had this in mind for several years now. Looks pretty sweet with the single headlight. Found some sweet little oval turns for it, finally figured out how to hold 'em in place. Had a ride today, totally bitchin'!! Let me know what you think.

Cheapskate using that front fender... what a terrible idea

Those rad covers are my fav so far. Looks very utility and not overly decorative (form over function blah blah blah). Keep it coming!

Thanks for the comments and questions. Risers are RSI, I highly recommend them for the $$, quality pieces and pretty cheap. Bar is Renthal. Coerce CF fender, also nice piece and cheap(ish) shipping, at least when I purchased. The red fender for a windscreen gives it sort of a "General Grievous" meets the "Alien" type look, and I actually used another scrap red piece to hide the headlight on the inside, here's another pic:

No problem, they are 2" rise, 15 degree pullback risers in black, you can get them factory direct here:

Race Shop, Inc. : ANGLED HANDLEBAR RISERS - $59.95

As 4 the bars, I don't know the specifics, might be able to dig it out, I'll post if I find the info. I think they are the "ultra low" model from Renthal, do a search on their site, it might give measurements.

OK, now I have just seen your bike in HOTM, I get your comment above. I didn't know anyone else had ever put a fender on as a windscreen on ANY bike, let alone a SH! And I thought I had "invented" an original idea...

I love your bike, awesome.

Clean. Looks good.
Did you fab the rad covers your self? Or are they a part from something else modded to fit your project?

Thanks for the compliments, man! I hadn't ever seen it either, although something tells me someone has done it before. Pretty cool that we both discovered the egg shaped turn signal lights where the forks go too... I guess it was meant to be, and meant to be on a Shawk!

And hey, if you've been thinking about doing it for a year, you though of it before I did!

I have liked seeing the evolution of your bike; watching a little naked bike mature into a more refined machine.

p.s. I trimmed the bottom of the windscreen a bit to make it not look so heavy at the bottom- something to maybe chew on as you look at it in the garage
