Low mount to high mount exhaust?

I've always liked the look of high mounts best. Is it possible to buy just midpipes that can take the low mount exhaust to high mount? I have no problem fabbing brackets etc.
Anyone been there and done that?

I have done it.....all you need is the pipes...and the high-mounts look much better. They sound different in the helmet too.! FYI, when you are aligning the mid-pipes for the high-mount, it will seem as though it's incorrect at first. Don't panic, a wiggle and a jiggle and it'll fit just fine.

Anything is possible. Some situations are as easy as say Two Bros which came in both, so all you'd need are the midpipes and hangers to convert to high mount. Low mounts like say D&D only came in low/standard mount but fit right up to Jardine high mount midpipes and hangers. Some other "low/standard" mounts can be rotated upwards with high mount hangers for an RC51 look which I've done several times and happen to like alot (may need to cut off the midpipe tabs if they have them). Totally depends on what you have and what you want to do. What do you have currently? Keep in mind finding the parts is another matter as most of this stuff is no longer made and hasn't been made in a long time.

You couldn't do anything like this (high mount) on the stock cans using the existing OEM hardware and piping?
Im in the process of pulling mine off the bike completely and figure while it's off I may be able to make a change to high mounts with the stock cans.
🤷🏼‍♂️🤔🤨

The old Erion round cans are identical to the round Jardines. If you can find a pair of Jardine midpipes they'll fit right up to both Erions and D&Ds (if you find a pair with spring loops just grind them off, they're identical otherwise (no they're not available new anymore). You could also use the Jardine hangers or just make your own as the originals while pretty are a bit flimsy.

Again the other thing you can do is simply rotate them up higher using high mount hangers. Gives you a high exit style like an RC51. If the midpipes have footpeg tabs just shave them off.

I have low-mount and high-mount link pipes for my Akra system. Be aware that going from one to the other requires jetting changes (high to low: richer fuels screws, leaning main, and vice versa for low to high-mount). Of course, you can always get Flo-Commanders for both the pilot and main circuits and turn screws to compensate...

See my post on home made flow control, it's so cheap it's almost free...

I have high mount exhausts on my bike, the foot pegs had to be fitted with spacers and a custom bracket for the pipes.

It depends on the size and shape of the cans, mine are oval and the footrest sits over the can which required 85mm spacers.

Depends on the brand as different brands will obviously fit a bit different. The surest way is to simply hold up your passenger pegs near the muffler and measure the distance to the subframe. The bolts are available online. The spacers may require a little more creativity. Jardines used a 1.5" spacer and the socket bolts were M8 x 1.25 -70mm. Another set (not sure the brand off the top of my head, maybe LeoVince or Devil) are a 2 3/8" spacer with a 100mm bolt. I've also used 90mm bolts for others.
