High mount exhaust
Is there much work that goes into converting the normal exhaust set up into a high mount.... can i buy just the high mount exhaust cans or do i need the whole system???? Thanks.......

If you have low mount/standard mount exhaust already would would need to first call the company you bought the cans from and ask if you can just change the mid-pipes over to the high mount mid-pipes, then I'm sure you would need the high mount brackets, etc.

I'm not sure about the question but if you're asking if you need to replace the header pipe than no. It's a slip-on system just like if it were a low mount everything you need is included if you buy a new set. But you need new hangers and the mid pipes if you have aftermarket cans and most are interchangeable for the most part.

Re: High mount exhaust
Yeah that is what i was talking about. I didnt know if i needed to replace the header pipe.. But i will need new hangers right? I have on aftermarket D&D slip ons (Low mount).. They came with the bike when i purchased it. can you convert those into a high mount.. or do you have to buy the slip ons as a high mount... is there even a difference.. besides hardware wise. And another real dumb question.. when you say hangers do you mean where the slip-on exaust mounts to the passenger foot peg?
Thanks

If you can find the mid-pipes and hangers you can use the cans you have. I just sold some Jardine pipes I had on and used 2bros cans with them. It wasn't perfect but it looked good. If you buy the pipes and hangers new it'll run you about $300 at least that's what it was about a year ago when I called 2bros. $199 for pipes and $99 for the hangers, or keep your eyes open for some on Ebay with trashed cans or something. I just picked up a full system off Ebay for $80 because the cans were trashed but the rest was ok.
Oh yeah about the hangers, most of the highmount slip-ons make you take off the passenger pegs or have spacers to keep them on. Then you use the hangers they provide for the exhaust instead of the rear pegs.

Re: High mount exhaust
Unless Jardine changed their pricing, that MSRP that link is showing is WAAAAYYY high. You could probably call Jardine themselves and buy that setup for $430.
FWIW, that's the setup I have on my Hawk, and I love 'em. They sound incredible.
