Hi All

New member here from sunny Aust. Going out today to buy myself a 2001 VTR1000 and hope to do some mods to make it suit me. I have been riding for a long time now.. If fact I am that old I probably raced chariots with the Romans at some stage.
I Hope to post up some pics of my bike when I get it, and take you through my modification journey.
Cheers and Beers Macca.

Welcome!
You must be glad to be nearing the end of winter. I hear VTR's are quite popular down there. I've only seen 20 or so here in SoCal in the 6 years I've had mine. Also, there are a more than a few of us old farts on this forum.

Enjoy the torque!

Welcome.

Best time I ever had was a two week furlough in Sydney in '70. I'd do it again on the slightest prompt.

theres a bloke that does nice cafe kits for the trx850 in the motorcycle traiders mag, a bit over $1000, and made me think about how hard to would be to mod to a vtr (to hard for me). so ive just made a naked VTR (still a little rough) and wouldn't go back. its alot more exposed but i think that makes it exciting. easyer on the wrists.

That is unbelieveable that you bring up a TRX, as I just did one of those not long ago. here is a pic of it, but now it just sits in the shed.

However I do love my V twins as I have a 1198 Duke for the track that I play on, and now I want to work on making a special VTR. as they too are a beautiful thing.

The TRX as I bought her( not running)

Thanks for the welcome, and I too wish I had at least one neighbour that liked bikes, as all of the ones around me just seem to watch the football and drink beer,,,, of course this is fine at times, but their eyes glaze over if I start talking one word about motorcycle GP`s or superbikes or just bikes!!!
