No they don't scrape. There's actually more clearance since the cans are mounted higher and the mids are tucked in a little more.

 

It looks similar to mine but I just used the midpipes that came on the exhaust. Mine are a little closer together though.

 

The difference is everything is still functional on my bike. No spacers or anything like that to keep the passenger pegs. It all flows with the bike. With the look that it could have come from the factory that way. I like to build bikes that unless you know what you are looking at you can't tell it has been modified. The other route is to just slap on every aftermarket part you can find that doesn't blend with the bike and call it custom.

On the mid-pipes you never said how they were made, who did it, and costs?

What kind of wheels are those?

 

I made the mids myself. It cost a round $45 to make. I bought 4pcs of 2inch diameter 308ss tubing. 2pcs were pre bent at 90 degrees and 2pcs pre bent at 45 degrees. I started by mounting the cans were I wanted them and then cut and welled the tubing to connect them to the stock header. I do plan on replacing the stock header in the future .

 

Well MR. Billet, since we're making our true feelings known, I've said nothing about your pipes until now. The only thing I like about your bike is the swing arm, and to tell you the truth the pipes do not flow with the bike and look like they were made by a 13 year old. The bike doesn't look stock at all and anybody could tell it's not factory but that's just my opinion. As a matter of fact I found a sign that you need to put on the back of your bike.

 

Not bad I got one bad post from some hack that tried comparing his off the shelf junk to my bike. I guest the rest of the people must be wrong. I guess superhawk22 is just looking for a pissing contest after all. Maybe I'll consider you opinion valuable when I see an SP2 swingarm on your superhawk. Like I said I didn't like your exhaust from the begining and said nothing because I don't like to bad mouth other peoples efforts. So call me a hack if you will, I could care less, my mods were done for a single purpose, to improve my bike for the track. What was your point....to be cool? I wonder what front end you used on your bike, probably the one that you already knew fit right? Yes your swingarm is nicer than mine, which I believe I already made a compliment on it in another post you sanctimonious ego maniac. I have nothing to hide if anyone wants to see my bike, I'd proudly show it in the light of day in person. Excuse me if I don't have my own machine shop to fab my own adjustable rearsets and the equipment to cut and weld a swingarm. I like my bike just the way it is and I'm sure you like your bike too. I was just wondering how complex was the swingarm swap? Were any modification needed (different chain etc.)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, did you stick with the stock shock or would an rc shock fit with the conversion? Same questions regarding the front end swap. Thanks much.

 

You better look for his swing arm post, he already bit someones head off for asking questions he already answered. Do a search on front ends there's lots of good info on them here, the easiest conversion is the RC51.

 

The swingarm is a complex project as it was shortened 3inches to maintain the stock wheelbase and new suspension linkage needed to be made. The RC shock does not work on the superhawk. First it has a different mounting set-up and its to short. The front end is cbr954rr and bolt on.

 

I think the bike looks sweet, I wish I have the skill to manufacture exhaust, convert swing arms, front ends etc.. I'm just happy I get to ride my bike everyday.

 

Well not exactly, you do have to buy some off the shelf, (OMG), Heli bars or similar bars to mount under the upper triple and replace the VTR wheel, brake system and use tapered head bearings for the 954.
