Anyone seen this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...Q5fAccessories

Anyone seen this on a Shawk? Is it worth the money? Its MUCH cheaper than other undertails... and that appeals to the poor grad student in me. Let me know. OR if anyone has a better affordable undertail lemme know. Thanks!

*Edit- Mostly Im trying to find out if anyone has seen this on a shawk because I want to know what it does to the look of the tail. If anyone has a pic of this to show on a bike I'd really like to see it.

Looks good to me, except the random rear tire hugger in the liting. Otherwie looks like a nice product for the money. I have a mototek one it's also great.

I just bought this from these guys:

HONDA VTR 1000 1998 2003 HUGGER SUNRISE YELLOW #47

And on first inspection the mounting points don't look like they'll line up at all. I've contacted them and will get a better look after work. I'll let you know all the details, but I would wait off for a little bit if I were you...

I heard similar stories about these being a POS with a lot of work getting them to work/fit. there quote was "better off spending the extra at least you will have a better product in the end".

Looks like the undertail that came on my bike. It seems to fit good, but the surface is all wavy and the gloss black makes it stick out more. Also the lights aren't that bright. The brake lights are decent. I would prefer them to be brighter and the blinkers are pretty much useless. One of my friends riding behind me said he cant see the blinkers until hes 10-20 feet away.

But hey, what do you expect for 80 bucks.

Would you mind taking a picture of your tail? I want to see what it does to the lines of the bike

I dont have any pictures of the under tail at the moment. My bike is back home and I'm at my college apartment right now. I'll be able to take some Saturday. If you're willing to wait.

Be careful you're not buying something that won't fit a hawk. A VTR1000 can mean a lot of things!

That's for a superhawk. There are a few members here that have that style of undertail. Check the galleries for pictures, as I'm not sure the names of those who have them.

FWIW: The hugger won't work. These are very good sellers and are refunding everything, but it's something to keep in mind.

Update on this particular product -- the hugger, not the undertail -- I got it to work using the mighty hacksaw, an L bracket and a few zip ties. Seller was going to stand by the product, but almost nothing lined up out of the box. For what it's worth.

If someone had bothered to check the older threads around here they would have found at least ten threads that discussed this, all with a common theme... Avoid Pit-eck like the plague... They still haven't figured out that people expect stuff to actually fit the bike without a complete remake... And thats after 5 years of peddling crap...

Thumbs up

Well, I received mine on Tuesday and I must say that it is very good quality and that I am more than happy with it!! The black finish is more than good enough to put straight onto my bike, but, I will wait until it gets sprayed and have it matched to the white I've got ready
