VTR Of The Month - January 2009 - Winner: RCVTR!

Congratulations to RCVTR for winning the first ever VTROTM!
https://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=195141&postcount=48

First off, this is in no way official (It is now! ADMIN), I just thought I'd get the ball rolling on this project and hope that it catches on. Hopefully I'm not crossing boundaries or stepping on anybodies toes. There is a 10 nominee limit per month. Here are some general rules that should be followed for VTR Of The Month... or VTROTM
  1. Picture (REQUIRED, 3 MAX!) Please limit picture(s) size to 1024 x 768.
  2. You can only nominate your own VTR. (projects, daily riders, r.i.p.)
  3. Candidates will be nominated up until the 10th of the month or when 10 nominees have been made, whichever comes first. A poll will then be set up (on the 11th if less than 10 nominees) for everyone to vote for VTROTM for that month and close on the last day of the month.
  4. All participants who vote will get to vote only once per month so make it count!
  5. Comments, criticism, harassment, and all around bad manner wont be tolerated.
  6. If you have won bike of the month, you cannot enter your bike for 12 months.
  7. Rules subject to change / amendment at any time.
  8. Description of a candidates bike should include the following If available:
  • owners name
  • year
  • color(s)
  • modifications
  • tech specs (if any)
Let the voting begin!

Nominees as of 01/10/09 -

As nice as some of these "project" bikes are, it seems to me that the SHFVTROTM should be a finished bike in running condition. My opinion...

Hi, my name is Greg and I approve this thread.

Inderocker, thanks for stepping up to the plate to get this started. I can fix the poll issue with vBulletin as necessary to support BOTM.

So, what does the winner get??? This is part of the problem, in that we don't have sponsors so we don't have anything to give away...except the recognition of BOTM. But that may be enough for most.

I was thinking the same thing.... as long as the photo's themselves were interesting enough.

I was also think that the winning could be featured on the homepage for the following month. I have no idea what all would be involved in making that possible.... ??

Wow! Thanks for the mention but the bikes already up here (including yours) kind of make mine the "plain Jane insane" that it is. I have always built the kind of machine that looks plain but lets you smell its exhaust for the next two miles. My Superhawk is a case study. It looks like a well preserved 10 year old bike - until the light turns green!

It's January Mick and I hope the baby is good. Now get off the computer and back on the wrench! If I have to drive to Maryland to help you get this out of the garage I will! Spring comes a whole lot earlier in Texas than it does there so get moving! You don't want to show me a test drive in the snow!

Aww c'mon.... that's no excuse. Look at my bike... it's not very far from stock at all. You could win just for having a killer photo of a completely stock VTR... who knows!

There are twelve months in the next year. I'll be here. I just need a good clean up and a couple little things. We made huge progress lately with a new Barnett clutch and some other goodies. I got some cosmo issues to deal with from the PO. I'll pick my time.

TxSuperHawk, you still got my covers?

Awright, awright, Inde! I will try to get some new photo's tomorrow. We were out on the bikes this after noon and Chas can close a 100-150 foot gap in two seconds. Lane splitting at 80 freaks the cagers. They move their asses out of the way. We got the new "new wave" going on here so we're a little busy. Notice all the bikes in the bg? That's another story.

Would it be possible to feature the winner on the homepage for the previous month. Also would be possible to give VTROTM it's own forum to keep things organized and tidy. I have no idea what all would be involved in setting up those 2 suggestions (HTML-wise) so please take the suggestions lightly.
