No doubt about it! There's no other country I would want to have our backs more than Australia.... and I don't think anyone else ever has had our back as much.
#64
Why do I get the feeling I'm never done... Thanks for the vote though...
#68
Touch up is quite easy though! *rattle* *rattle* pppsssHHHTTTT! Done

Australia has also given us Mark Weber, Casey Stoner, and my girlfriend's family on her father's side, so I'm a fan

Time's almost up! Either pile a few more votes on Shayne or slide one more towards the pretty orange honda and force a run off!
Don't.. wanna.. lose.. by.. 1 *sob* lol!
I mean c'mon, a Honda, made of multiple Hondas, with a paint scheme that IS Honda. It's practically Soichiro reincarnated! Look into your SOULS...

If "made of multiple hondas" is the winning criteria I should have it hands down.
VTX1800
CBR929
VFR800
RC51
Big Ruckus
Little Ruckus
599
XR650R
CB750
ST1300
VTR250
CBR1000RR
CBR600RR
VTR1000
I may have forgotten the donors for misc. hardware but I think the above just about covers it.
You can also consider this a game, name what parts came from what bike.

Actually now that I think about it the only part that are actually bought as an aftermarket part specificly for the VTR that I remember it is the undertail... All other parts are either for a totaly different bike or car...
Wait no, the shiftstar is also bought as an VTR aftermarket part...
I guess neither of us are into the "bolt shiney storebought things on" school of modification... And it seems none of the others in the running this month is to inflicted by that either...

To be quite honest there are a few parts in the mix that I have no idea what they are for, neither do I know what their original purpose was... And several part are made by me from scratch...

I know what you mean. I wish I had kep track of where all the cooling system parts came from. Lot's of automotive and home improvement store parts in the mix.
I'm a firm believer that stock is a good place to start and i don't care where the parts originally came from as long as they work and visually fit in.

It is a disease there is no doubt. No matter what car or bike I had there would always be something I wanted to change on it.
As for parts, I have a bit of aftermarket gear in mine, but most of the work has been in detailing the factory parts. I find that making a particular part, such as an exhaust mount can be done in a couple of hours, but to make a set that I felt looked good enough took me 4 days. Hand filing and so on can add a lot of hours to the completion time.
The exhaust mounts are an interesting story (I think so anyway). I already had them made when I took the bike to a motorcycle exhaust pro. That was his entire business. His job was to make up some mid pipes to suit my mounts and the Staintune mufflers I had.
When I picked the bike up he commented on the mounts, and stated it was usually the hardest part of his job. He asked me who made them, and when I replied that I had made them myself, he asked if I had made them on a milling machine.
He was quite surpised when I told him that I had made them by hand, using part of a Toyota Hilux drag link and some flat bits of steel I had in my scrap pile.
Never throw anything out. You just don't know what it will come in handy for one day.

Wow, this month is a tough one. But I'm giving my vote to luis for keeping those white wheels clean for 12 years. Classic VTR.
Hey luis, I'm only about 5,000 miles away if you want to come over and clean my wheels.

Haha! I suppose I should be angry, but I think I can live with zero votes this month. So many great bikes in the running!
