Uchi, waddya mean you offer protection?

Not from electrical issues obviously..... Sorry had to go there, funny but still stinks. You'll get it sorted out.

Sounds like you already have.

Indie is going to close entries to start voting soon.

April 2010 rundown has about every kind of superhawk available, something for everyone.

A rundown in order of entry.

Kai Ju- a fan favorite custom naked hawk proven to function mile after mile now up for sale and possibly VTROM.

Uchi- Modded yellow hawk emphasizing HID, LED, in mirrors headlight and undertail. chopped mufflers. Bike looks like something out of the future or a videogame.

8541- Definately in the OMCD club with this entry, a respected forum member that recently finished a large wave of mods only to have and unfortunate accident. We're all really sad about the bike yet happy you are ok and will ride again, soon.

Christian man 30- Not sure about this forum members choice of name or where he is going with it, but he has a std straight forward clean hawk, which some may argue is best.

Shayne- Just look at the bike, this guy is a pervert. (takes one to know one)

Tweety- This guy is on a mission, not sure what that mission is, but another pervert no doubt.

Angry olaf- Forum staple, all around great guy I'd like to meet some day, it's in his contract to enter.

Mdbuehler- Really love the first photo, angle.... not sure about the clip ons turned in. Tank mod, front end, wheels. bike looks sweet. and works!

Gilson- a go fast track bike that has expensive bits and looks great to boot.

98soopahawk- Euro style streetfighter look.

Hope you all enjoyed my run down, just full of **** and vinegar tonight. Let me know if I am off the mark or forgot something.

10 entries, wow. should be a fun one. This is what it is about, right?

Hey guys, i know i´m a litle late, but can i enter my bike too?

I really want to be a part of this in this month cause next month she´s going to be stripped of the plastics and be naked ( i hope).
owners name: Luis
year: 1997
color(s): red
modifications: Paints, exausts, screen, car alarm (only cosmetic things)
This bike´s been my ride for 12 years now, i bought her in second hand with only 1 year and i can´t separate myself from her and move on to another one. I really tried to sold her for several times, but i´m not strong enought.

aahhh, this is ridiculous! We only get about 75 votes a month split evenly thats 7.5 votes a peep. So the difference for the winner may be one or two votes . That said I still don't know what to do... heavy hitters may be an understatement...

I'll make it easy for all of you.
Vote for my bike, since it'll be my birthday on the 25th, and because my bike is so bitchin.
Think about it, I started a trend with the underseat radiator, albeit a small one.
Granted, Tweety's bike is way trick, as are some of the others in the line up this month.
But those mods are still conventional, if tasty. (Credit where credit is due)
I have been riding with this setup for the past 5 years with no performance or reliability issues and most of the time the bike is ignored because it looks factory, and I have to go through the trouble to explain what makes it different from the rest.
So I'll do it here one more time:

2001 CBR 929 forks and gauges.
Speedo Healer to correct calibration.
Tubular handlebars on stock 929 triple clamps with custom risers and late model CB750 handlebar clamps.
Heated grips and handguards
2001 CBR 929 front wheel / calipers / 330 mm rotors.
CBR600RR rider footpegs.
Stock passenger pegs, slightly lowered and further forward.
599 headlight, '05 GSXR turnsignals.
Kawasaki ZRX6 oil cooler with braided lines.
VTX1800 radiator ( under the seat ) with double fans, one of which has an adjustable thermoswitch.
Vented tail section to allow airflow to the radiator. (Cooling temperature cycles between 207-194 F, regardless of ambient temperature with only one fan. Sustained high speed kicks the second fan in at 208 F and keeps things cool)
Updated OEM CCT's with manual locking feature installed at 36,000 miles.
K&N filter w/jetkit and RC51 mufflers. Mid mount with passenger pegs still functional.
VFR800 ('98-01) 5.5 gallon fuel tank with stock fuel valve in custom made block off plate for fuel pump opening.

So there, vote to your hearts content.

well, if you're gonna get angry about it, at least it seems that would be consistent with who you are. hahaha. Don't take it personal, unless your self concept is inextricably intertwined with what others think about your bike. If you're that shallow, I really can't, nor do I want to, console you. Let me take another look at your bike. Maybe i'll vote for you.

.................................................. .................................................. .......................OK i'm back. No, can't vote for your bike. Hell, it's yellow, ****. mine's much nicer. it's red like a real Honda.

Uchi,

You are absolutely correct. It was meant as a complement...... and a dig at the same time...... to everyone of course....

Just trying to remind everyone not to take themselves so seriously..... sometimes I do and I just need to knock it off. This forum helps me with my illness.

Comments taken in the spirit they were written I am sure. Most of us that got this far must have something wrong with us!

Some nice bikes in here, and some very different build parameters too. Some bikes such as Tweety's are focussed on mods for performance, but we have some high detail stuff like mine too. A good mix for sure!

Don't mind him Shayne if you've been around you'd know that Nath981 is one of the most thoughtful induviduals out there. Always there to see the bright side and give someone the unexpected compliment. Quite refreshing really, especially for an american.

I'm glad to see so many turn out for this month, I am hoping that we can keep it going throughout the year.

The last couple of months I considered going back to a VFR. Tank capacity, fuel economy, refinement, hard bags. etc...... I visited VFRD often and read threads, checked it out. Then I thought WTF am I thinking? The VFR is 50lbs heavier, less torque, linked brakes. The service manual is twice as thick for pete's sake. The superhawk forum feels like home compared to VFRD. I've put all this time into VTS only to jump ship and start over with what? I'm sticking with the VTR for now,I've got another wave of mods coming soon and I'm hoping to get a fair amount of riding in this year.

This was not meant as a thread jack, merely stating just how much this bike and it's following is overlooked and understated, really that's just fine by me as long as it continues to hang in there. That is why I am excited about VTROM.

+100.... My feelings exactly! The VFR my be a marginally better touring bike, but for the lack of character and the addition of useless technology it's just not worth it to me. Plus, I know some good people on VFRD... some are even members here too, but for the most part, those guys have their noses as far in the air as the BMW people... no thanks.

I get great fuel economy out of my VTR... usually 40-45mpg on the highway with a best of 52.5mpg, just as good as my old '04 VFR. I've got a trunk for touring and I cherish the mild level of refinment in the VTR.

I have attempted to obtain a larger oem fuel tank from Europe, but they are hard to come by.

Maybe that is why our countries have fought well, side by side, when the situation needed it. Americans and Australians have spilt blood, and lost good men, on the same soil on a few occasions.

well, thanks for the good words VTS. No mean intent, just a little ball bustin/teasin to reduce taking things too seriously, encourage lightheartedness, and keepin in mind that to be able to laugh at yourself, even if it is provoked by others, is good for our mental health and adds fun to your outlook in these tough times that can wreak havoc on your attitude.. Kind of like friendly competition where winning and losing is not terminal,, not damaging, but just friendly fun among people who share a common interest.

Haha I don't take much to heart. I've been around the forums a very long time so I'm pretty easy going. Just remember to add after posts. Sometimes I forget a joke becomes an unwelcome comment
Also on another note. I threw my buddys 05 vfr800 a pretty hard beating a couple weeks ago. A good 2 bus lengths from 70 to 190 kph. He's got a leo vince exhaust an -1 setup. So that should get me more votes

Oh, there is nothing wrong with me... It's the rest of the world that's insane...

Shayne, our two bikes are very different... But I like your bike a lot all the same, I actually had to toss a coin to decide if you or mdbuehler would get my vote this time... (Sorry, BTW you lost...)

But on my bike the focus and intent is clear... If there a part on it that doesn't help me go round corners faster, it gets altered... Concessions are made for visabilty, safety and creature comforts (lights, signals and seat)... "Form over function" can take a flying leap from somewhere very high for all I care... Form and looks are second priority to function and performance when I do stuff, but matter to some extent...

But, someday not too distant when I have gotten this thing to the specs I want it, I will start working on the appearance a wee bit... I'm thinking I might powdercoat the frame when I re-inforce it... Saves me taking it apart twice... And a new coat of paint might be nice... Polishing stuff though is where I draw the line... If I start polishing stuff you know I have both legs in a cast or something like that... Patience has never been one of my virtues...

The best part of the VFR is the fuel tank, just take that off and toss the rest
