trackday pic + rants & ravs

got out on the track again monday ( 2nd trackday of the season ).
if you read my previous trackday thread... i chew'd up my diabo dragons ! in the search for another set of tires i decided to give the new dunlop gp211 ntecs a try. ( i softened up the rebound and added a click to the spring )

YES, that's a 190 !!!!

prep'd and ready to go.

to make the most of it... i borrowed a set of warmers ! me really like

thanks to 'eqsme' for capturing the event:

a little adjustment to the rear shock made a big difference ... the wear was perfect.

now for the rants .... to the guy on here that outbid me on the rearsets

btw: Astar pucks suck ! they are hollow.... 1 trackday & there shot !

& the Astar magnesium sliders ... also lasted 1 day !

i had a hard time keeping the peg off the deck.

home in 1 piece though so it was a great day. i'm going to shim the rear shock & see how much that helps. the left mid pipe also took a beating.
it was suggested i raise the rear 10mm & the front 5mm. it may be too much for the street ( only in being able to put my feet on the ground ) but it may be something i have to do for the track. how are you people extending the kickstand ???

enjoy
tim

btw: the ntecs are all they say they are ! just awesome.

Cool track day report ! Love the pictures . You really got me geeking for my track day at Barber this weekend . Just a heads up on spacing the rear 10mm , I was only able to get a 5mm spacer on the rear of mine because the shock linkage was bottoming out on the header pipe . Although if you have a full aftermarket exhaust sytem or a different shock it may not , I dont know. Even with doing just 5mm it made a noticeable difference , not huge improvement but noticeable . It does keep me from scraping the pegs as much and made it feel a little more nimble ! Well hopefully I will have a worn out set of knee pucks like you at the end of Saturday !

Yes, you need more rear ride height - a 5mm spacer between the shock and upper mount should work for you. Also, I don't know if you've done any fork work, but stiffer springs in front will keep the front from compressing as much while leaned over, thus more ride height.

You do have her leaned over pretty far. You certainly have the confidence to ride hard.

I'd gone away wondering if you had a tuning issue with the rear shock causing that wear pattern before, but couldn't identify what it was.

What Greg said. Hopefully you can get it to not compress so far in the corners.

I carried a spacer disc for the kickstand. Also keeps it from sinking into hot pavement.

Looking good!

i have .95 springs up front with oem stack & 7w oil ( 140mm gap if i remember correctly ). weighing 165 lbs without gear. i'm also running a fork brace & hyper pro steering damper.

i made a 5mm spacer & installed it last night so we'll see how it goes. it'll be another month before i get to try it at the track...

i have no options on the left side unless i redesign the midpipe, luck has it the local track has only 1 hard left hander that i drag the pipe

a friend runs video if you want to see me in action ....

I never could keep the belly from touching down on the right. I ran a glass bellypan that rubbed instead of the header. The racebikes used a different oil sump, so the header could be moved closer to midline. My kickstand rubbed on the left, but not the midpipe.
