New VTR Owner in San Francisco
New VTR Owner in San Francisco
Hello... I first rode a VTR in 1994 and I loved it. At the time I had an RC51.
Well, now I have all the bikes I love ever since I bought my VTR last week. It is pretty much all stock but I plan to mess with it.
It will see some serious mileage soon as I am prepping for a trip to Toronto next year. In the meantime I am just getting to know it.
Looking to buy a set of pipes if anyone is planning to sell theirs. Otherwise I will need to go new. $$$...

Two pics... my 1998 VTR and my Yamaha FZR-R4

Oh.... typo! Obviously....to some maybe.
My buddy had a VTR and I had a Y2K RC51. We would swap bikes often on our Sunday rides. Two totally different bikes. But I really liked the VTR. It just felt so "rideable". Like a bike for the real world.
Okay, my typo. I meant to say 2004.
Are we good? Satisfied?

Absolutely! I still have three other bikes.
Yamaha FZR-R4 for hauling *** on some Sat and Sun morning rides and trackdays
Yamaha WR450F for my enduros and general hooliganism within City limits
Piaggio Vespa P200e for the "date" days with the wife. Picnic in Golden Gate Park or the cafe scene downtown.
And of course the VTR! For hauling *** on the weekends and unconventional hooliganism anywhere I ride and for dates with the wife within the City and extended across the Golden Gate Bridge or down the coastline.

Not to mention a great commuter and soon to be a long distance tourer. A little bit of everything.
Enjoying the bike!
Miguel
I have mid-mount Leo Vince on my bike ("05 VTR) right now that I'm willing to part with. I don't have pictures, but I'm in San Mateo. Email me if you want to take a look at them. Email me at salmanilla2000@yahoo.com
