Its a sickness...
And yes the bike was all red when I bought it. 2 years later black. And now white. I like the white best what do you think. And it never ends just finished the night vision install sweet.
Ok rewired all lighting to a toggle, took my head light apart, added a 43 infra red led for lumination only the camera can see, wired a 1/3 Sony veri focal cam cam on the front, attached to the horn bracket who needs a damn horn anyway I just rev it. Just a cheapy reverse cam on the back, wonder if I need mirrors anymore? And originally bought a pop up 3in screen and soon after realized the tank wasn't the place to mount it. So I got a 7 1/2in widescreen rear view mirror monitor with touch screen so I can switch between front and back. My next investment will be a DVR 12volt that uses a sd card. sorry rambling, with lights off in pitch black I can see clearly for approximately 90m.
The rear cam idea is actually pretty neat. If set up correctly, I'm guessing you could see more than with mirrors.
But have you ever tried using night vision for navigation? If you have then you know it's not easy. You have almost no depth perception. There was a mythbusters about this a while back (maybe just a couple weeks ago). I've tried it before, and I'm glad it was in training only. It was just slightly better than navigating blindfolded IMO. I was running on foot through the woods and driving a Humvee (slowly) and it was horrible. I'd never try that on a bike, especially at a fast pace with someone chasing me.
Hopefully your infrared LED setup is better than what the Army has . . .
