Fun Sunday Ride... With Video

Had a great afternoon ride yesterday in the nearby Santa Monica mountains, and recorded some of it on video.

Unfortunately, the Sony camera setup I had rigged up on my bike was unbearably shaky. However, my buddy got some great footage on his GoPro and let me throw it up on YouTube. (That little GoPro camera is amazing BTW, and I now hope to get my own as well.)

Anyhow... Enjoy some mid-90's-Ducati-tank-view footage from the Santa Monica Mountains!

p.s. Half clips feature your's truly on the Superhawk just ahead of the cinematographer.

<cricket sounds>

Well. Guess no one is quite bored enough for this post!

Anyhow... I uploaded another short ride video - this one is of a nice twisty section of Decker Canyon:

Enjoy!

I rode Decker, Mulholland and Latigo back in 1982 on my '78 CX500, modded for canyon racing by one of the 2 other guys I was riding with. He was on his new CX500 Turbo, and my friend since high school was on his '78 CB750F.

I haven't been up those canyons since, but my wife and I rode by there on PCH 2 years ago, on our way up to Santa Barbara and Highway 33. And I've driven by there many times on the way north to Mussel Shoals and Rincon to surf.

Hopefully you have fond memories of these roads! I feel a bit spoiled having so much great riding this close to home.

If you ever decide to venture this far up the coast for some weekend riding, let me know! I can't get out on the Superhawk very often these days with the little one keeping us busy... But with a bit of notice I can usually work something out.
