The desert has turned green

The monsoon rains have turned the desert around Tucson green, this doesn't happen all that often. I rode up to Gates Pass Tuesday afternoon and took a couple of pictures......Rick

look at all those cacti - I certainly wouldn't want to run wide into turn 1.

Man I sure miss AZ, now in TX. Nice here but the riding roads are few and far....like in Arkansas. I used to ride near Canyon Lake near PHX. These pics look like Saguaro NP.

Thanks for making me homesick

Gna, that is the west side national park, out by Old Tucson Studios. I rode up to Sonoita this morning, the weather was perfect, about 70 degrees.

I lived in El Centro for 3 years and was there for "El Nino" in 1996 or so. Incredible how much the desert changes with a small amount of rain, HUGE changes with lots of rain. You could smell the storms before they arrived. It was a combo of wet cresote and wet earth.
