Cheap projects

Here are two inexpensive projects I recently fixed up and sold. I've done a couple cruisers too but I thought these would fit in here better. Some patience and a little extra lovin' & there's no excuse to not have a clean bike you're proud of on the cheap. Hope you like them.

First was a '99 superhawk I bought from a forum member on here for $1k. He'd dropped it but besides all the cosmetics and a warped front rotor (and a ton of cleaning) it was good to go. He had just installed new tires & a 520 chain and sprocket kit. I sold all the damaged bodywork, shortened and polished up the jardines it came with and sold them, sold the carbon hugger, and bolted up a cheap dirtbike handlebar and some ebay risers. A cheap pair of vfr brake rotors and I had a runner for around $300. Farted around with it for a little while and decided to finish it up right the way you see it here. Only 20k miles and spotless. All for a total of around $1300.

Next is my '01 SV650. Sat under a carport and was a little weathered but not too bad. Had a bad starter and rusted frozen chokes-apparently a common problem. $1100-only 9k original miles! $35 starter, alot of cleaning and polishing, freed up the chokes, my $50 ebay special M4 full system (if only I could find one for a superhawk!), and you have another sweet runner for under $1300 (plus I'll get about $100 back selling the spares it came with )

Nice work, but stop let eveyone know, Its already a rat race on craigslist for the decent bikes!! I'm only $1,240 deep on my SH and all it needs is paint now! Last restore was an original cbr600f1 hurricane last winter.
