not really, I found 94-97 worked best.

They are 41mm, and have better bend/angle for the Shawk. Adjusted properly they just barely cleared both sides of the fairing, without crushing my fingers against the tank. 98-01 will require trimming the fairing, or other modifications I believe.

I have also run Shawk forks in a 96 vfr750 using the vfr triples/wheel/bars, and Shawk bars on a Hawk GT. Love Honda interchange possibilities

Your results may vary.

Confused

In the vfr750 info above gen 4 was 37mm. Gen 5 was 41mm. We have 41mm.

All year VFR 750 used 41mm conventional Showa forks as far as I remember and my notes show.

1998-2001 VFR800 used 41mm conventional Showa forks.
2002 and up VFR800 used 43mm Showa conventional forks.

All year VFR700 used 37mm Showa conventional forks.

Fixed it for you. There were vfr700 and 750 in the same years. That said, I am no expert on pre 1990 vfr's or anything else But I have owned 1990, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2003 vfr's.

I also believe they went 43mm in 2001, thus gen 5 = 1998-y2k.

Not in the US there was not, the VFR750 was not imported to the US in for MY 1987, we got only the VFR700. But point taken, in other markets, there was overlap and more then just US folks read this forum. Good catch

Im pretty sure my old VFR's were 41mm Showas though...1983 VFR45 Interceptor , and 1984 VFR750 Interceptor were 41mm conventional Showas from my memory... I had those bikes new off the show room floor.... Perhaps my memory is faulty though... It's been a long time.

the 2001 VFR800 is listed in OEM parts fiche as using the same fork seals as all other pre 2002 years. That being 41mm Showas. Now I never owned nor worked on the forks of a VFR800.... so it's just a researched based guess, and parts fiche has known to be wrong.

Job Completed

Just installed the 95 clip ons. Works wonders and feel great. Adjusted so misses everything by 1/8 inch.

I unbolted the brake cable block down on forks. 10 mm

I put the throttle cable back thru the forks and adjusted the cables accordingly.

I ground down the nib on the starter switch and wrapped the bar with electrical tape (6-8 wraps) the switch just compresses down tight. Nib was on the bottom and did not want to mess with it. No pressure on it.

The throttle cable had a top cover nib so I drilled the hole and installed the throttle.

Left side needed nothing but installing the parts back on

Easy to do and worthy of an hour or two anytime.

Thanks again for everyone who has added info to the sight

102dals is an unknown quantity at this point
I've been running 98 VFR bars for over 5yrs, but they touch a bit of fairing at full lock. 94-97 bars a slightly lower, but the ends are different. You can use stock end weights with 98-01 bars (they fit my Throttlemeister too). 02 & later are 43mm.

I used the OEM bars off my 5th gen 2000 VFR800, and they work great.

I shimmed the fairing a touch taller (added maybe an 1/8 inch of shim between the windshield fairing bracket and the fairing) and adjusted the bars back a bit so they almost touch the tank.
