Did the 6 LED strip under the break light. Gives off plenty of light for the police to no pull me over for a fix it ticket. Got the lights from Advanced Auto parts, $15 for to 4" long strips.
I LIKE IT!!!

Sorry about the glare. Didnt wait for the garage door light to go off and my hands were shaking. Little tired from Jiu Jitsu/MMA class.

Just leave the bulb holders in the holes...

Yes, there is plenty of space... I left mine in, and connected the LED to one of them, making it "stock" as far as plugging it in...

Does anyone have any leftover Nissan butyl sealant tape i can buy? I don't need an entire roll of it, just enough to do a tail light.

Thanks!

Did the LED tail light mod on my '98 Superhawk. I bought a clear alternatives LED brake light (no integrated signals) and the Optronics STL78 (red lens) retrofit is SOOOOO much brighter!! Thank you for all your help and great write-ups!

2 bulbs down to one...

I don't think I saw it mentioned anywhere in the thread, so it's probably obvious, but I'd like to be certain...

On the OEM there are 2 bulbs, so two harnesses and two sets of wires... Do you wire up the new light with just one set? If so, what do you do with the other set?

Hoping for a quick answer... I'm gonna tackle this today.

Thanks!

I just left the other wires in the plug, you only need to hook the led unit to one set of wires. Post some pics when you're done, good luck!

Found my answer, guys... Should have read more closely. Dig and find where they're spliced, or just cap one... Makes no difference.

Thanks again.

Just did this! I soldered the red/white/black wires to one of the original bulb holders, then screwed them both in. When looking in the trunk you can't even tell a mod was done!

Thanks!
