I'm game! What kind of ride you want to go on? 3 pass blast? Ride over Snoqualmie and down Canyon into Yakima for a Miner burger? A run around Mt. Rainier? There are so many great rides around here! Just depends on how many miles you want to rack up!

I dont know yet... a ride to mount rainier sounds good but at the same time I will Have the wifey on the back of the hawk with me... Maybe a meet up at Southcenter or something and then ride down to alki by the boat launch and get some pics... Then ride out to grab some grub.... Then wherever... I like the ride down Old 509 Through Redondo to Ruston by tacoma... There are quite a few twistys through there... I really dont know where we should ride to... thats why I am open for suggestions.... =)

I'm not real familliar with that section of 509. There is a pretty sweet ride around Mercer Island. If you catch it early enough in the year there shouldn't be quite so much foot and bicycle traffic on it. That'd be a closer in shorter ride for more of a meet and greet.

The Mercer Island run will be a little more of a relaxed pace. Not sure if people are wanting to go knee dragging or more liesurely but come mid summer there are a lot of bicycles and stuff on the road there and traffic can be so so depending on how you hit it.

So I assume you want to grab lunch at Alki? How much riding you want to do? Southcenter to Alki to Mercer island isn't a lot of seat time but with a few stops we'd have plenty of meet and greet time.

Sounds fine to me... I would rather get to know everyone in person and then be able to plan later rides this summer.... So seat time isnt a problem. Also we have a member hauling the Hawk from Whidbey Is. so I dont want to inconvience him to much since it would be a long drive for him... We can run Mercer and if it is Backed up then Hell... we can find another place... We all can pitch in on places to eat or stops.. Doesnt matter to me... And I would be up for something less pricey so instead of alki we can ask everyone what sounds good and go from there... Is that cool with everyone???

Seattle Superhawks!!

My roommate and I recently picked up SH's within the last month and have been looking for people to ride with so this sounds great! I'm busy the 16th but could ride that Sunday.

We're also down to ride before that, we are always looking for more places to ride. Haven't done much touring around Seattle since I grew up in Bellingham and mainly rode Chuckanut and Hwy 9. I've hit Mercer 3-4 times already in the last month and enjoyed Dash Point Way down to Tacoma, but interested in some new spots.

PM me if anyone wants to ride with this gorgeous weather upon us!

Dustin

Welcome to the site and to the new SH!

There is a meetup.com group doing the "three pass blast" this Sat. They are going over Snoqualmie, then Bluet, then Stevens passes. Part of the group is meeting at Denny's in Issaquah at 8 or 8:30 for breakfast before the ride.

That sounds awesome! What is the group called?

Also, I got really excited when I found out about other Hawk owners in the area, so I started a Facebook group called "Seattle Superhawks!!". I thought that might be easier to set up future trips or even short weekend rides. In my excitement, I forgot to search for existing groups haha, so sorry if it's redundant.

Post a link to the group. I'm not finding it in a search. That's a great idea.

Here is a link to the meetup group. Greater Seattle and Puget Sound Motorcycle Riders Meetup (Seattle, WA) - Meetup

And here is a link to this saturday's ride. 3 Pass Blast!!! - Greater Seattle and Puget Sound Motorcycle Riders Meetup (Seattle, WA) - Meetup

Seattle Riders

Hey Guys,
I just bought a 98 and I was wondering if any of you, because I saw one, was on I5 southbound yesterday (May 23,2012) around 4:15pm around Lynnwood?
It was raining all day, but I had to ride having changed the oil and filter the day before.
Anyway, I don't know anything about these bikes, I hoping for Seattle Meet-ups so I can learn.
Mostly I just wanted to tip my helmet to the other VTR rider yesterday in the rain. He was the only other rider (on any bike) that I saw.
Cheers dude.

I'm more of a fair weather rider haha so it wasn't me. Welcome to the site! I'm on my second Superhawk but only found this site a couple months ago. My advice would be to scour the site! There is a wealth of knowledge and tons of great members that would be glad to help out any obscure problems you may have (as a courtesy always check/search to see if someone else may have asked the same question first before posting a new thread). First two threads you should look up are swapping out the R/R and CCT if they haven't already. They've both been covered ad nauseum.

PS- join the Seattle Superhawk Facebook group and we'll plan rides together
