Riders in Florida?
Riders in Florida?
Who here is in FLorida? I know there's a couple.
Reason I ask, I live in Jacksonville (NE Florida) a guy I was talking to at work said his buddy owns a hawk with a single side exhaust conversion. Bike is Red.
I was on break and saw a black one, with a single exhaust conversion. TBR carbon.
I saw a yellow one with high mount Jardines and flushmounts when I was out riding my bike(bicycle).
When I went to bike week in 03, I rode down with a guy who had a hawk. I had met him through my R6 friends, but still, I'm pretty sure he still has it as it was his daily grind.
My buddy who owns a Bike Shop sold both of his hawks....so there's people around here, I just wanna get together for a group ride and find out who's who!!!

I think with a state like ours you should probably ask who's from N. Fla. I live in Fla. but I'm about 7 hours away from you. Although I do go to Jennings Fla. to ride the track there about every 3 months or so. It's only a short ride from Jax you should check it out sometime it's only $125 on weekends and $99 on Mon. 3 groups, novice intermediate and expert and not a lot of bike prep needed. If your ever down in the S. Fla. area let me know.
Re: Riders in Florida?
there is at least three superhawks in lake city, which is about an hour and fifteen minutes from jacksonville. we get over there from time to time. you know to go to the landing hooters and sporting events.
I'm in the Orlando area. South Lake County is about our best riding in this area, hilly and relitively low population, but will be all houses by the time you finish reading this.
Just joined up last week when I got the new bike, but is there ever a SH national or regional type meet? My local Triumph clup just went up to the dragon for the weekend. Something like that with the SH would be great.

Re: Riders in Florida?
i agree. a group ride would be nice. a few buddies and i just went to the leesburg bike fest for the weekend. the only superhawks i saw were the ones the three of us took down there. i still had fun though. lots to see and a nice mini vacation, (even though i also went with a few harley riders...ha!ha!)
Re: Riders in Florida?
yeah, yeah i'm procrastinating on jennings because i'm afraid it will force me to spend some major $$$$$ on upgrades due to all the fun i'll have!!! i hear there is a race on may 8th or close to that day? haven't verified yet but i'll probably ride up and check it out with some friends if i'm not working.
Has anyone been to the Honda Hoot? I've been 6 times now, and really recommend it. Good riding, great roads. The nice thing is you can be as social or as anti-social as you want. There are group tours, like the sportbike ride or a trip to the MC museum in Maggie valley, or you can just take a map from the help desk and head out on your own.
Having just given the Hoot a glowing review, I have to admit that I won't be able to go this year. We try to go every other year so the wife gets a "normal" vacation also. Just food for thought if any other FL riders are looking for something to do this summer, besides melt.

Fort Walton Beach, FL here. Bikes all over the place, but V-twin Sportbikes are few and far between. A guy on a TL and my Hawk were the only two twins on a group ride of about 30 one Sunday. It feels great to have something unique and great sounding. I wish the damn thing went farther on a tank of gas though. Gonna fill my camel-back with gas to get some extra milage one of these days. Name is Tony
I live in jax and ride a red hawk with MIG high mounts. I was at Dicks two weeks ago with some other guys from .ws Let me know on either site if you want to go riding. I have some friends who will go anytime. I live in Argyle down the street from black beast.
I live/work in Jax. I ride my hawk almost every day. Southside of town off of San Jose. Mine is a yellow one. I see another Hawk every now and then. Saw a red one before, it may have been you dreamin.
Hey all, I guess im getting in late to the discussion. Josh in Sanford, here. I am up for meeting for rides on wkdns in the crl fla area. I might even head up to jax for a ride.
I just got the 520 chain and 16/43 sprockets, whoa, the butt dyno says much more accelleration.
Somebody, just organize a ride..
I have done clermont, the roads out there are curvy rolling hills, too.

Tampa rider and Hoot promoters..
Hey,
Wife and I live in Tampa. We do a lot of riding around here with the local HSTA group.
BlueVTR - Thanks for thumbs up on the HOOT. We work for Honda every year as vounteers there, now as part of the volunteer senior staff, and have a blast. For everyone, if you haven't been to the Hoot, you have to go. Unlike other rallies, its not just go park your bike and wander around vendors. The Hoot is built around different rides, scheduled every day and throughout the beautiful countryside outside Knoxville, plus nightly activities to attend. This if the 15th anniversary of the Hoot, so its going to be a blast!
If anyone has Hoot questions, just let us know. We can probably answer it, and if we can't we have the inside track to HRCA to get the answer!

Just found the thread. I'm in the Orlando area.
Commute and daily rider between Wekiva/Apopka and the S./Trail area. I do the I-4, 528, 429 shuffle. If you see an 'arrest me red' VTR with a red Aerostitch and white helmet, that would be me.

I am from Panama City area and as far as I know I am the only Hawk around. Kind of sucks. I met a guy from Gainsville and went over there and hung out for a while. It was good to ride w/ something other than 'Busas or GSXR's and what not. I want to come over to Jacksonville sometime this summer just for a long ride.....
I am up in Jax / Atlantic Beach. My shawk is in storage at the moment as is the rest of my house hold goods. Next week everything should be out of storage and in our new place!
I think I'm going to go down on Friday afternoon to watch the Daytona 200. I may try and make the superbike race as well. Usually if I go to Daytona I spend most of my time around the speedway trying to catch some racing and ogling in the pits. Of course you have to pay to get in the infield now so. .
