On the cusp here.
Logistics for the same company for nine years. BUT......
Somebody on this forum knows something about purchasing management, please! I got called into the Big Chief's office and got told that my talents were being wasted. Bolt out of the blue he started talking about putting me in a one man purchasing position. 'Tis a 2.5 million company, small, I know, but I've seen it go from half that in the last year to it's present size and know that there is more growth coming.
If I pass the formal interview and get the slot, where are the potholes and traps? What is the most common mistake for the new guy? Besides seeing into the future and ordering enough to get through, how does one succeed? How is that success measured?
Sorry if this is a hijack, but I haven't ridden that desk, ever. Thanks.

What do I do or what am I trained at?
I lost my job in February of 2010 {I know where it is, just someone else is doing it now}. At the time I was running a group home for 3 DMR clients. I took that position as a favor when the state cut funding to our agency. Before that I was in HR and Investigations looking into reports of Abuse or Neglect and doing handling disiplinary actions and DOL hearings. Yup, I was the guy everyone loved to hate!
My trainings??? Well I am a certified auto mechanic, I teach FirstAid/CPR/AED, I am a Physical/Psycological Management Training Instructor (keeps you, your client, or others from getting hurt if there needs to be a restraint) and a I teach a bunch of other courses too.
While I wait for the market to rebound I have been buying and reselling Miata's. They are easy to work on and the profit has been about a grand a car.

New York City night club manager. Cool pic dirtydog. I have a similar n-scale one that circumnavigates my apartment. I would take pics of my job but its boring. Just hundreds of drunk, hot chicks out for a night on the town. An episode of sex and the city was filmed here so they flock.

I deliver the Twinkies (and other related goodies) for Hostess/IBC. Commonly know (here in the states) as a Route Delivery Sales. Can't really believe people consume that much **** , but then again, look at all the overweight people out there. Keepin me in business, for sure.

My bike is far in my mind, but it will come back I swear this summer I'll be riding a turbo V-twin

I'm getting to old to do the install so I'm going back to school to get a degree in CNC machining.Used to be the civilian foreman in a prison machine shop and taught myself to run manual machine equipment so need to learn the CNC part of it.
