Your favorite Track Day tire.
Your favorite Track Day tire.
Just curious...for those who participate in track days;
A) On a scale of 1-10, how aggressive do you rate yourself on the track ?
(as compared to a wild 18 year old trying to prove himself worthy of factory sponsorship...being a 10)
B) What tires are you running and why that choice ?
C) At the start of each session, do your tires need much warming up before max lean angles ?
Thanks for the feedback

A. 8 in the B/Intermediate group.
B. Michelin Pilot Power Race. Best feedback out of all the tires I've tried (D208GPA, Racetecs, Pilot Power, Diablo Corsa). The tire feels planted from turn-in to midcorner to exits. Predictable when the tire is at the limit of traction.
C. At least one lap for the side that gets the most turns, and another lap for the other side. Tire warmers are a huge boon for this.

A 9 at races. 6-7 at track days 1. because I'm working 2. because there are no scouts at track day lol
B not sure how much help I'll be as I rode slicks all season but the bridestones were the best for me (soft front medsoft rear) in turns of turn in, feel at lean angle, and grip.(once there done big slides but recoverable and predictable)I also rode super corsas(good grip, didn't like the turn in feel, once there were gone grip was nill) power race(good all around, long lasting grip, just a little bit under the bridestonesin grip and feel) tryed so many tires because at 3-4 times a the track a month I had to get what ever I could afford most were takeoffs from the people I knew that change tires aftter each 8lap sprint.
C. on warmers one full lap at 65%, and atleast another half at 75% of pace
