Yet Another Superhawk Down!!!

While exiting the interstate making a left hand turn on my way to work Tuesday morning I hit a major oil spot and lost the rear. Bike went down on the left side, but got very lucky. Only broke the mirror off and bent the clutch lever. The frame slider took the worst of the slide and saved all the plastic. The D&D pipe has a very small skid mark at the rivet where it attaches to the mid pipe. Was still ridable but man I missed the mirror. Picked it up and quickly surveyed the damage, stuck the mirror in the tank bag and still made it to work on time. No damage to me thanks to the ATGATT attitude, but my pride sure was hurt seeing my SHawk on her side!

Glad you made out with only your pride being bruised. Still being able to ride the bike to work is just the icing on the cake.

The street is full of surprises and a routine, enjoyable ride can become an unhappy one in an instant. I'm very glad that you're OK and damage to the bike is slight.

Glad to hear you're ok. May not feel like it but it's a good day when you can walk away AND the bike isn't damaged too bad.

That is still a happy story. Any crash you walk away from... I went down in a mammoth oil spill leaving Manhattan on night. I slid for forever. There was so much oil that I could not even stand up. Musta been like a whole heating oil truck emptied. I was sooo pissed but rode home with the slop all over me.

Good to hear your ok. The other annoying part is learning to trust again. Should take you a minute which is healthy. Every bit of paranoia will add years to your riding career.

Aloha,
Glad to hear you came out O.K., minimal damage to the bike.
Guess the frame slider just paid for itself and more.
ATTGATT for the rider and bike(F.slider), Kudos...
+ made it to work on time awesome.

Makes a good reminder to ride extra cautious at the beginning of rainy season. First rains lift all the oil off the road making it slippery out there.... fwiw

Super suck bro. But you always walk away with a lesson learned at the very least. And a Hawk can take a slide pretty well. Glad you're ok and made it to work. You provided another lesson for the squids too. Wear that gear and buy sliders
or make pink mist.
