Unhappy WTB Right Side Parts (low sided today), aftermarket signal source?

Hi guys. I've been off the sight for a while. I moved from Dallas to Phoenix in June and have loved it, but today I learned about "Arizona Pea Gravel" which camouflages perfectly with the firm pavement below. But enough excuses. I lowsided today and was two decades overdue.

I doubt many of these frequently trashed right side items are around and unclaimed, but if anybody has any of these goodies, or a great source/online Honda dealer or aftermarket source, I'm at full attention
Thank you,

Chris in Phoenix, formerly Dallas

-Right Crankcase Cover (first thing to hit, huge hole punched out)
-Rear Brake Pedal (bent, bad)
-Right Peg Mount Bracket, called "Driver Footpeg Bracket" in Manual. (Snapped, but found peg)
-Right Bar End weight dealio (Pretty ugly, and slightly bent, should I get a PAIR of aftermarkets instead?)
-I had stock turn signals, and no fender eliminator kit. I was going to Sanford & Son my rear fender (recession-friendly eliminator kit) but want to get rid of the stock turn signals front and rear for something flush mount. What is the best kit, cleanest install
-Several plastic fairing hickies and a few cracks, but there is lots of helpful information on the sight so I should be OK there.

As far as me, I'm fine. My big toe is blue but it isn't broken, other than that just some back/rib impact pain. Pretty slow turn and hardly broke in my leathers. Arai Signet is toast though, saved my skull.

Thanks everybody

-I don't have a right crankcase cover as I already gave my spare away to another member.
-No bend is too bad. get some MAP gas at AutoZone and a torch fitting, get it pistol hot, then bend it back.
-I may have the right side peg hanger. If I do, you can have it for shipping cost's.
-I'd replace the bar ends with some Throttlemeisters (if you've got the $$$) or just some $10 aftermarket aluminum ones.
-I personally think that a trimmed rear fender looks better than the aftermarket under-tail, along with the integrated tail/turn light (see photo's), plus you get to keep your trunk space. You have to hack off most of the rear fender when putting on an under-tail anyhow... I've never understood why nobody could make a direct replacement.
-Fairings... if they're mostly there, repair and repaint.

By the way, welcome to Arizona. Check this thread for fellow AZ VTR riders... https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=17356

Inderocker,
Thanks for the tips. Definitely let me know if you have that right peg mount, I'll insist on paying you SOMETHING for it, but appreciate the offer!

That turn signal/tail combo looks great, who makes it? I like LEDs but don't want to have to do much more than plug&play, electrical is not my forte. I can splice wires, though.

I'll check out your link on local AZ Superhawk guys. Thanks!

That chop job on your rear fender looks really good, Inderocker. Thanks for posting the pics. I didn't know that using after market undertails forced you to cut the existing fender. I agree with you, if you've got to cut it anyway... do your own first.

If you wanna send me the crankcase cover I can fix it up for you. Re-inforce it too if you want for cheap.

Wow, that looks great! Like a built in slider, right into the case! But I just looked at the engine and am freaking out that something major broke off in the crash. I think the internal bolt on disc/parts inside the case are bent, too. I'm still trying to get to ground zero. BTW, I envy your collection. I had an 86 GSX-R 750 and have always liked the SRX-6, not to mention all the other sweet bikes. If it was a clean fix I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I'm afraid other items may need to be replaced, too. I'll keep this info. Your fix looks like it would minimize the possibility of dirt/metal chunks getting into the engine, which I now fear.

Water pump fan/impeller bearings too tight?

I'm digging into a crashed out right side/clutch cover....when I turn the shaft that turns the water impeller, it turns, but it is not at all easy to turn. The bearings look great, and they've lived in oil (low mileage bike), but they seem way too tight. I can turn the impeller by hand easily, but turning the fan by the shaft is difficult (little leverage when turning by fingers at shaft). Is this supposed to be that "tight?" No grinding or off and on binding, just feels like there is too much drag. My HOPE is the bearings have super tight seals to keep oil and water apart.

Also, is it me, or does the primary drive gear assembly rotor appear to be broken, leaving only 9 teeth? If not, I need a total teardown

Thats the ignition pickup, its supposed to be like that.

My impeller Is hard to turn by hand also. I believe its the combination of the bearings, the oil seal and the water seal creating friction.

Truckinduc Case Repair?

Truckinduc....I'm attaching pics of my sidecover. It is pretty banged up, has a mean long crack and is missing some aluminum. Also, on the inside the little disk is slightly mangled. I think those internal items can be replaced.

The clutch seems to work fine, and other than some minor scratching at the surface of the pressure plate. As far as I can tell, I THINK it is OK, but I don't really know how to test it or check it. See my previous post on a bearing concern, but I'm thinking that is OK.
I like your fix, but the damage on mine may make it more trouble than it is worth, but let me know. I tried PMing you but couldn't attach the pics.
Thanks-Chris

thats about how bad mine was mangled. I just took out the stuff inside, its supposed to deaden the clutch noise some, but other than that it serves no purpose.

My cover had about 6 four inch long hare line cracks.

I may take you up on that. PM me or email cscrawford71@yahoo.com details on where to ship it etc., ballpark cost (that is flexible, I want it done right) and I may have it shipped in a couple days.

How do I flush my engine of potential road dirt/rocks w/out teardown?

So I went down on the right side, blew a hole in the sidecover. There is one missing frag of aluminum, but it is big enough to get caught by the screen at the oil pickup. However, there are a few small pea gravel/pavement chunks, about 1/8" or so, inside the cover. So I may have picked up a few goodies in the crash. The bike went down at about 15-20mph, and slid maybe 10 feet, and when I went to pick it up, the engine was dead, not sure when it stopped. All the oil left the engine in a big hurry, so it may have taken some of the crud out with it. Still, all it takes is one little piece of sand to trash it. Short of taking off the oil pan and blasting everything with a can or two of contact cleaner and maybe blasting with an air gun, how can I clean this stuff out? If I need to have the whole engine torn down I'll go ahead and make an insurance claim. I'm trying to avoid that for if/when I ever really pile it up and bend forks, break wheels, dent tank and totally trash plastic etc. This pea gravel is kind of light and would probably not be an issue with the tranny gears, but crank bearings, pistons etc. are a condern. Any engine guys got any tips?

Once you have the right side cover off you can remove the clutch basket and have a pretty good view of the inside of the oil pan... but for piece of mind maybe taking off the oil pan is the only route.

PM sent for right side peg hanger.

Well I finally got all the parts, got the sidecover replaced, pulled the oil pan and cleaned it for good measure. Refilled with oil, put water back in and it fired right up. I didn't hear any crazy noises so hopefully all is well. I put in standard oil to flush through the engine. I'll start it again to let it get hot, drain and put on a new filter with synthetic.
Greg PM'ed me and said after the pickup screen the oil goes through the filter so she should be in good shape. Now i need to fix plastic...
