What goes under the seat?

I opened up the seat to get to the battery to charge it. I noticed that just beside the tool holder there is a place for a cylinder about 8 inches long. Just wanted to know what should be stored in there.

I think it is a place for maybe a emergency pump for the tires. I could be wrong.

If I understand what he is talking about, that's where I put my multitool and flashlight. I have no clue what actually belongs there.

A manual pump that small would be useless for inflating a tire of our size.. It would get there eventually, but you'd be working that thing for days!

I'm pretty sure my user manual illustrates storage of a U shaped (kryptonite) type lock under the seat. [Yes, I am too lazy to go out to the garage and confirm!]

The channel next to the tool space is for the cylindrical lock portion.

You're probably better served with any of the suggested options above though. Personally, I like the flash light idea and may go with that.

The original Honda U lock fits under there, one large U and a cylindrical lock piece that goes in there... But it was only available in Japan since it wasn't approved by any insurance companies... Stupid, but that's what the plastic was molded for...

yeah the problem with those things is, and its been shown on tv and its on the net, is that with a bic pen you can force it open. they did it to a kryptonite lock which is supposed to be the cats *** when it comes to locks. took some chick a few second to get it open.

er not quite - The Honda U-lock was available in the UK cos I bought one when I got my storm 10 years ago.

Works as a lock (I've still got my storm!) and sits in the tray okay. Though I've had to replace the rubber restraining strap with a bodged mini-bungee strap.

PS The stash goes under the footpeg rubbers ;-)

Similar but that's not the right size for the VTR's compartment.

I'll post a pic tomorrow
