VTR louge

Well, after all these years and miles, I always wondered what it would be like to ride on ice. Now I know.

The temps on the commute home started at 40 but dropped to around 35F.

A lot of people shovel snow into the streets so that I expect. On the LIE service road I passed a crashed car with drivers standing there. I went by at around 55mph.

As I pulled up to my house, I put my foot down just to have it slip right out.

I came to a stop, shocked. I got off to find the road surface was a SKATING RINK! I could take 2 steps and slide like 6 feet!

I guess the wet roads with dropping tems and evaporation caused a freeze.

Thank you God I got home safely.

Just thought you guys might find it interesting that you can ride a bike on ice. You just gotta be smooth.

That is amazing. I'm a big fan of traction and I won't ride unless I can count on there being some of it.

I see these in your future:

My buddy races snowmobiles and wanted me to race my Superhawk against others that were at the races with motorcycles, as there are many different classes to race in. There is drag racing and circle track around here on the lakes. After seeing a Craigslist ad, I almost pulled the trigger on some used studded tires for my bike. But, decided to keep it off the ice and spend the money on a new front end instead.

Just took mine out for a short ride in the neighborhood, I don't think its been started since Oct.

There is a puddle of water with snow & ice at the base of my driveway. I gingerly rode over it to the dry road. Phew - I didn't drop it.

I thought you were going to open a lounge catering to those who ride VTR's but had a hiccup with the spelling. Now I'm sad. I really wanted to go to that place.

Yeah, I'm bummed too. We all could have looked down our noses at the guys who ride inline four rice rockets while bonding over lattes. That would have been good.
